I don't see it at all. He gives up free zone entries to every rusher. Whenever he goes to retrieve a puck along the boards and there's a forechecker remotely near him he coughs up the puck and we get hemmed in. Obviously he can't defend the front of the net at all, his stick work really isn't there not to mention he uses a mini stick with little reach. Attacking offensive players eye's light up whenever they see him on the ice cause he gives them nothing to really worry about when attacking the zone, they know they can abuse him. He also has annoyingly slow reflexes for a midget, on the OT game 7 goal against Dallas everybody at least reacted in some way to try and make a defensive play. Meanwhile he was actually in good position in front of the net to block the shot but just stared at the play like a deer in the headlights, he literally didn't even move an inch.Girard is arguably better defensively than Krug. Also 6.5 is obviously not enough for Krug that's why he's gonna be a UFA
The big fish is left winger Taylor Hall, a former Hart Trophy winner who is poised to leave the Arizona Coyotes. The Blue Jackets are expected to have an audience with Hall as he hosts Zoom calls with his suitors Friday. Calgary, Nashville and Colorado are expected to pursue Hall, too.
Yeah, unless someone goes full mental and offers him something crazy. From Portzline last night:
Is Taylor Hall a target? Blue Jackets poised to pounce as NHL free agency dawns
You have to be able to beat out those teams if you're Sakic, especially if Hall really does prioritize winning above all.
All of those will offer money and term. If the Avs pitch, it’s a shot at winning vs a lot of money. His agent will advise money. From Portzline last night:

He wasn't super visible in the Playoffs. Is he still good?Claim Johnson!
