They are using up their full quota in these "also exists" leagues and will have nothing left in NHL.
We are 6th in Pronman's post draft organizational rating for 22 and under players. We have one of, if not the, largest list at 17 players. That list doesnt include Murray or a goalie.
We slid a slot with LA jumping us because of Byfield (13 to 5 jump). Either way, we shouldn't have any prominent graduates from the list this year while Toronto will fall into the 20s because of Matthews.
Carolina in recent drafts targeted a lot of the high-end skill players and has a system full of slow, small or otherwise divisive players. But almost all of them have skill and make a lot of plays. This is a system that should produce an entertaining style of play with a lot of offense. Not everyone in the league is sold the way the Hurricanes are building is going to work, but they have acquired a lot of players I believe in.

Seeing all those Rangers and Devils didn’t bring happy thoughts. Seeing Pittsburgh with 1 at 146 was funny though.Canes with 7 players on Pronman’s best under 23 list:
Svechnikov
Necas
Jarvis
Bean
Suzuki
Gunler
Bokk
7 out of 155 ain’t too bad.
Ranking the best NHL players under 23: Corey Pronman's top 155
Was actually thinking about starting that (and the top prospects poll) up this weekend. When does it make sense to start a new thread? Some of the colts are already out of the gate, but most others are still in the paddock. It's no longer the 19-20 season, but it doesn't feel like 20-21 has begun.

Maybe this is old news, but I don’t think I realized Suzuki has a permanent blind spot in his eye. It sounds like it was pretty scary for a while; I’m glad he’s doing better now

Scary and I'm glad he's healthy from a quality of life perspective.
But... I get he's doing better now but that's still a potential major blow to his skill level, no?

I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Luckily, if he can't make it because of this, I don't think it would be as devastating as it would have been for the longest time. We're still pretty well stocked. You never want to lose out on a 1st rounder, but we could and not be toast.
But he performed pretty well down the stretch after coming back last year (production-wise, I certainly didn't watch him). And that was pretty early into his new normal. I won't be surprised if he adapts and overcomes.
This. Supposedly he played some of his best hockey after the injury.
