Sabres currently sit 6 points back btw of a playoff spot and are tied with the Canadiens. Says a lot about the Leafs and Panthers who are in front of them lol

So it's pretty much Thornton or nothing at this point right? I dont buy that we're looking into defensive depth. We have plenty

This only tells me absolutely nobody who is any good had any interest in Simmonds. Sabres threw a future 5th in and that seems to have been the best offer.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see him get very few contract offers this offseason as well.

I already thought the Devils gave him too much money. He looked really bad last year. 1 year or not he was not worth 5 million anymore.

With Kreider and maybe Thornton not moving that doesn't leave many options left for the teams looking for a forward.

Now I won't be surprised if Nill does nothing.

I don't think there are really any affordable options out there that clearly make us a better team so yeah it definitely won't be surprising

Yeah I kinda doubt San Jose moves Thornton. Sounds like he wants to stay and wait til next season

It's probably nothing ... but Granlund isn't practicing. He was the guy I thought could actually be a Zuccarello type addition.

Since Laviolette was fired, he has 9 G (12P) in 20 games, and his ice time has gone up. He's played so well, I'd be surprised if they actually traded him. Plus, they really do have a shot at the wild card.
