Don't blame the goalie!

Sounds like Hutsko is staying in college...
We still have time with him until next summer, though there's not much left for him to prove in college - unless he's determined to finish his degree? How long does that take in the US, three or four years?
Still need to sign Finkelstein and Bachman if we want to keep either of them; with everybody else we have time (though I expect us to sign at least some of the group of Ludvig, Schwindt, Meireles and Wedman).
Yeah it takes 4 years in u.s. Stupid decision for him imo, if he gets hurt he's screwed. I mean he'll have a degree, but I'd rather sign an nhl contract and bank 2 million right away and be healthy.
His injury history is the probably the main reason he is staying to complete his degree, oh and the high chance they have a championship team next year with Spencer Knight between the pipes.
When is Denisenko eligible to sign? I've seen April 30th mentioned a few times on Twitter for when KHL contracts expire...is that true? Is he signed through next year or is his contract done?
Pretty sure his contract is done this year but I remember Soupy saying they kind of hold his rights until May or June iirc?
It'd be good to bring him over getting more minutes per game in AHL.
Think LGC was saying he averages like 9-10mins a game which is stunting his development imo.
Lokomotiv would have to OK that though, his KHL contract doesn't end until like halfway through May.
Sure, but if they're eliminated, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't...
This doesn't really apply to Denisenko since he's a top prospect and probably coming over anyway, but KHL teams have done it in the past (not releasing players after their season is done) to give them more negatiation time, if the player is still on the fence or/and not a sure bet to make the NHL.
I would think it would be longer than this? They just drafted him in 2018. It's barely been 2 seasons.
Edit: Just did some quick research and I may be wrong, but I think we hold his rights until June 2022.
I guess one of Dadonov or Hoffman are definitely gone.
Fantastic news, I wonder if he starts in the AHL.
Good read, although not sure I agree with Weegar being a #7. I think he's more of a #4/5. He should realistically take Matheson/Yandle's spot at about half their cap hit and we send one of them packing.
Weegs has had his egg scrambled a couple times this year. He is the least of our issues on the backend.Weegar has made a few glaring mistakes this season that rival what Yandle and Matheson usually do. Haven't been impressed with him this season and if he asks for a substantial raise, he can find it elsewhere.
Indeed.Strange situation.
