We need Hammer back to stabilize the defensive end, since his departure this team has been a mess. People talk about how great Murphy is but he can’t fill 50% show of Hammer despite the age difference. Murphy as much as he is praised is nothing more than a 3rd pairing guy on a playoff team...
Murph started off great , i will admit that. but since then, it appears as he has come on down. however i still see him trying to spread himself out too much on defense. b/c lack of support from other parts of the team not doing their job responsibility.

Fair point. I don't think they would accept anyways.

I think Moore is a very underrated, steady two-way D-man. Should have signed him instead of Manning.
Boston has to move one of Grzelcyk or Moore.

Boston doesn't have to move either. Krug and chara are both free agents after the season. I'm guessing chara will re-up.

Krug has another year left.

Also Urho Vaakanainen and Jeremy Lauzon are knocking on the door.

As well as Jakub Zboril.

Insane LD depth.

what is the overall cap of that team?

plus offer sheeting the Jets is something Bowman will not do - Chevy seems to be a GM that wants to actively trade with us, doubt Bowman wants to burn that bridge

I take a risk that he figures it out and the last two years of the deal are a steal.

I'm not necessarily against bringing him back, although I've been less than impressed to this point. But I don't see how he'd have the leverage to get more than he's getting now. Like why would he get as much or more than Kampf or Perlini for example?

He got the same as Kampf?

Yeah, you have Sikura getting 1.5 mil which is the same as you are giving Kampf and more than you gave Perlini. Both have shown more at the NHL level. I don't think you would have to give Sikura 1.5.

I realize we are in the weeds here, but I don't think you would have to give Sikura more than a mil to bring him back.

I am also getting him to sign for 3 years opposed to 2.

I like the team but agree with AD, Bowman isn’t going to burn the bridge with Chevy. Furthermore, 8M is far too low. They’d match that in a heartbeat and thank us for helping to get him signed.

You are correct sir. John Moore wouldn't look bad at all.
However, Matt Grzelcyk (who I didn't really consider due to his size..) is one of the best puck movers in the league.

Could be the best possible partner for Seabrook at this point in time.

They don't have room to match it. Laine and Conner both need new deals.

They’d be foolish to sign Laine over Trouba at an 8M cap hit. The only reason Trouba may move is because he wants to go to a different team.

He wouldn't be bad at all. He does have some grit to his game.
Plus a player like him opens up a lot of other options with LHD on the team now.

You are underestimating Laine. 40 goal scorers don't grow on trees. If they are going to let Laine walk or trade him the Hawks should get him. Also Trouba wants to be in the US.
