Tyler Brennan from MB is the goalie for Rink. One of the (if not the top) top ranked goalies in western Canada.. everything you would want in a goalie. Tall and very athletic.

How about HD? They always seem to have some hidden gems?

Surely you meant ND correct? If so ND pulls kids from all over the world so it is definitely understandable how they would find some gems!!! That place just seems magical for one reason or another to me. Especially how it all started and the foundation it was built on. Just amazing!!

A few goalies to watch this year;
POE- last year Ashton Billesberger played varsity. This year Prep. I think you will see this kid climb the charts as he has not been accredited his worth. He's not a skyscraper in height, but quick and agile.

OHA Edmonton- drew sim played camrose AAA last year and had a solid season. He will have a lot on his shoulders this year but might do well. OHA Edmonton struggles with goalies last year. Sim is a big tall minder. His tandem partner is Neitztch, smaleee and not quite on the radar.

Shawnigan- supposedly picked up the very big goalie from soutside edmonton, McDowell. Played AA last year if I'm not mistaken. Shawnigan cannot bank on his size in order to be a stud, but he may surprise some this season.

NAX- first year of bantam Prep for NAX. They have signed Loc'r Gordon. One of the highest ranked 03 goalies in western canada. He stands 6' tall and weighs in at 160. Proves to be a very competitive goalie with a tough season last year where as a first year he played the most minutes of any other goalie in the ambhl. He played for Kc of Edmonton.
I believe rumour has it that his tandem partner will be Tebbit out of St Albert.

I will have to snoop around for other goalie placement on teams

Thanks for the info, sounds like a strong year for goalies. Why no info on ND goalies?

I would love to see what ND has coming in to compete against the "Academies".
Their Kids will be showing up on ND Campus Sept.4 or August 31 if they are playing football as well. They will have 2 bantam teams, 1 prep team in the CSSHL and 1 in the SHA AA league.
I have been told by parents who's children attend ND that ND typically have tryouts for the first 3 weeks to sort out who's playing on which team so you could have a bit of a wait to see their "FULL" roster. I'm sure there are some kids that they already know which team they will be on but others will definately have to earn a spot.
Crappy thing is that when Academies tie up guys early and promise them Prep spots there are often a few guys that jump on board late and have to play on the varsity team even though they should be playing prep. Varsity guys still get lots of attention especially if it is painstakingly obvious where they belong. Academies gotta feed the money monster and get the best guy's they can. It can be a double edged sword sometimes though.

Mason Beaupit a goalie from Semiahmoo Minor Hockey in BC will be heading to OHA Penticton to play on the Varsity Team. At 6'3' and the amount of work he has done to get faster and more agile, I do believe this young man will definitely attract attention this season.

I guess what I mean by that is I am surprised he is playing varsity when he has had exposure last couple years that placed him as a upcoming strongvtendy.
Sorry I have been very preoccupied.

Well his story from my memory goes like this.
2nd year PeeWee it starts to become obvious he doesn't belong in house and is called up to Rep I believe for the max amount of games he is allowed during regular season and also some playoff games which don't count for his max number of games he is allowed in the regular season. Now I don't know exactly how all that works and I maybe off a little but that's the gist of it all.

Last year he plays Rep and has a very strong season and becomes more consistent. The murmurs and rumblings start.
This summer he attends West Coast Prep Camp and is in the Wong group with a lot of the top WHL projected draft picks and gets some half decent exposure.

Lynden Sammartino the goalie coach for the Victoria Royals of the WHL and Beaupit's goalie coach calls from China one day and sends Beaupit out to Major Midget or Junior tryout because they are short a goalie. At the end of it a WHL coach can't believe Beaupit is only 13yrs old.

He is contacted I believe a few days or a week after returning from Port Alberni. The Prep spots have already been handed out for one and two I believe because he is just starting to get noticed so this will be his chance to prove himself. I think this is only going to be his 4th or maybe 5th year playing goalie. It won't matter if he is the best goalie in the whole league or not though they can't just give Prep spots away after kids have been promised those spots and paid the money.
Well they could but boy I think there would be some repercussions that wouldn't be fun to deal with !!

I think this is perfect for him and obviously a chance to prove himself to people!!!

At the end of the day though what do I know?

Oh he was invited to BWC as well for a tryout and short listed but one of they're goalies has been a BWC goalie for years and the other goalie I'm not sure what the story is but Beaupit didn't get in although again my understanding is that he was once again noticed

Lajoie is also NAX..

Heights and weights (for the most part) are last years numbers. Once rosters come. Out, actual up to date numbers will be out.

Draftgeek does a VERY GOOD job on their evaluations of players.

I had the chance to see the NAX team skate the other day...a mix of all sizes but they have a few big players;

Marc Lajoie- 6'1" would be a safe estimate, maybe closer to 6'2"
Zac Ostapchuk- 6'
Lucas Ciona- 6'
romanchuk- pushing 6'
Dylan Guenther -5'11"
Brett Hyland-5'10.5"
Brayden tsachuk- 5'10"
Then a few at average height, as well as some smaller kids with Hemmerling being the tiny guy at 5'1", but he is fast!
Goalie - Loch Gordon- pushing 6'1"

That's a good number of players with some height. Most teams will have a good mix of sizes and height I would imagine

I find it odd that the schools are all in and the rosters are not yet posted. Only some are. I understand that I takes time, but you would think the rosters would be up by now.

Some teams may still be deciding whose on which team maybe but who know's? It is also the first day of school today or tomorrow for most people here in BC so a lot of work to do the first while till everyone is settled in.
