Shawnigan Lake, B.C. – Cole Sillinger (Regina, Sask.) found the back of the net five times to register his second consecutive hat trick as the Okanagan Hockey Academy were 8-2 winners over Shawnigan Lake School.

Brian Majic (Campbell River, B.C.) chipped in with a pair of goals, while Jared Picklyk (Kelowna, B.C.) stopped 23-of-25 shots fired his way.

Kelowna, B.C. – A five-goal third period paved the way for Delta Hockey Academy Green to skate to a 6-1 decision over the Pursuit of Excellence.

A pair of tallies off the stick of Braden Blace (Comox, B.C.) and a one-goal, two-assist effort from Ethan Urquhart (Langley, B.C.) led the charge for the Delta offence, while Cole Savage (Abbotsford, B.C.) made 23 saves between the pipes.

This weekend sees ND Hounds playing Nax both Saturday and Sunday. Hounds have not posted a roster yet and a friend of my sons says they are still deciding.
Should be a good pair of games

Did you happen to watch any of these games, did anyone stand out, Smith from Delta and no points and a few penalty's which is surprising since they had 11 goals and dominated on paper. Since He was ranked so high on everyones list. Yes its early, but its early for everyone.

I know this doesn't count because it's not a scheduled game just exhibition but I caught a bit of the OHA Bantam Varsity versus a Major Bantam team from the Thompson zone and OHA won. I was interested to see how a Major Bantam zone team looked.

In the Delta vs POE games the line of Daniells, Urquhart, and Braden Blace was very solid. Any info on these guys?

Urquhart and Blace are good players I've seen them play. Urqhart played spring for the Langley Buccaneers and Blace played for the Vancouver Selects.

I have a friend who has a son that's friends with a kid at ND. He said they are looking at a few player positions and a goalie from the states is opening some eyes and impressing. However, this comes from a friend of a friend of a friend, lol.

So, what's the thought behind Wong playing Varsity? Is it a coach thing, playing with friends or just wants to dominate the lower level and break records?

So, what's the thought behind Wong playing Varsity? Is it a coach thing, playing with friends or just wants to dominate the lower level and break records?

My understanding is that he is playing with a lot of his friends and he knows the coaches. Yogi left coaching/training Delta and went to St. Georges. Also apparently there are a number of players drafted from the Varsity Teams before guy's playing on Prep teams so as always if you're good they will usually find you and he is a projected high draft pick so it's not like he'll be missed. One Academy had their Varsity goalie drafted while both the goalies on their Prep team did not get drafted. I believe situations like that come from Academies getting player's locked down and given spots on their Prep Teams early before they have seen all the up and coming talent or some kids just make huge jumps in improvement while some kids don't and last but not least, although way less than Minor Hockey Associations, there are still some Politics and deep pockets taking better player's spots on Prep Teams and Varsity Teams for that matter.

We know am Edmonton boy that went to ND this season. First impressions were he wasn't going to planning on playing prep as his older brother played Bantam AA (ND does not have a varsity team, so the non prep kids play Sask AA) he figured he would be playing AA as well. Got word last night that he made the prep team. I believe ND team was just finalized yesterday, but at the same time, they could still be picking up players to fill roster. They play two games this weekend against NAX, so they need to have a somewhat fielded team.

Gotta laugh at the kids perhaps keeping their roster a secret!! Maddox and I were talking and both said ya Gotta feel for the kid and his parents that was forecast to make the Prep team and not make it if that's what happened!!!
