So after this our prospect pool at the top end basically looks like...

LW: Tkachuk, Formenton, Balcers
C: Brown, Chlapik, Norris
RW: White, Batherson, Gagne
D: Wolanin, Jaros, Lajoie, JBD, Tychonick, Englund
G: Gustavsson, Hogberg, Hollett

Hopefully they become good players, but not so good that they price themselves off the team.

I like how the most valuable asset in franchise history gets us guys who are behind other guys in our prospect pool.

Did we get anything SOA that can be considered somewhat decent here??
Do you mean back in the Karlsson trade? or about Gregor Macleod specifically?
In the Karlsson trade .. I would say Norris and Balcers are decent prospects. I don't consider them Grade A. I can't recall seeing Balcers play internationally. From the clips .. it looks like he has good hands and good speed. I think he could be a 2/3 line winger that could see some PP time. He likely starts in Belleville this year. He will be fun to watch. Norris is one of those steady eddy types. He and Bowers were pretty even going into the 2017 draft. I would project him to be a good 3rd line C. He can skate and shoot and doesn't shy away from the physical stuff and he is a gym rat. Norris placed first in the left and right agility drills, peak power, vertical jump, long jump, second in mean power, fourth in bench press, and 8th in pull ups among the 104 invited players ahead of the 2017 draft. That is impressive. Over all the return for Karlsson was underwhelming prospect wise because none are really coveted high end prospects. Still...two more NHL prospects with a good chance to make the jump eventually added to the cupboard.

I haven't followed every other team prospect pool as much as before but I would be curious to see other teams that have a great forward prospect pool

Brady Tkachuk
Logan Brown
Colin White
Drake Batherson
Rudolfs Balcers
Alex Formenton
Filip Chlapik
Josh Norris
Gabriel Gagné
Aaron Luchuk
Johnny Gruden
Angus Crookshank
Markus Nurmi
Nick Paul
Parker Kelly
Andrew Sturtz
Jakov Novak
Luke Loheit
Adam Tambellini
Todd Burgess
Filip Ahl
Jack Rodewald

It's deep as hell (which is useless IMO because you can only have 9 top-9 forwards). Is the plan really to get rid of all of Duchene, Stone, Dzingel, Tierney and Pageau? Those guys are still pretty young (24-27 y/o)

I can't understand for the life of me why Dorion didn't target 2 very good D-men prospects if he really had to trade Karlsson. Forwards? We have plenty of that.

Vancouver (Pettersson, Dahlen, Gaudette, Lind) Carolina (Necas, Svechnikov, Zykov, Roy, Gauthier, Kuokkanen, Drury), Blues (Kyrou, Thomas, Kostin, Bokk), Lightning (Cirelli, Katchouk, Raddysh, Joseph, Volkov, Stephens) all come to mind. Florida and New York have a ton of talent at the forward position as well. The Flyers have a lot of talent there too but have an unreal D prospect pipeline.

If they are such good friends, why didn't Norris go to BU? Huh?!
He went to the University of Michigan were another of his great body Quinn Hugues was.
These 3 seems to be very close friends. At least, of you look at Norris instagram.

Norris way too high. I'd have him 14th in your list.
