We'll be the worst team in the league, there will be three elite talents in the draft, and three other teams will win the lottery and we'll pick fourth. Ho-Sang will be traded for scraps and then light it up for his new team.

Add Reasoner, Pandolfo, and Nino then you will really have something special 178 games played total 3 - 7 - 10 points total. That lineup is not worth the price of admission.

I think Lee/Nelson/JHS to get a passer to play with the 2 finishers
and Ladd/Filppula/Bailey as a wildcard line
Fritz is now with Johnston as forecasted
CDH and a goalie and the offseason is probably done
I think adding this drek makes it easy to call up a guy like Bellows very soon

They might but not a playoff team. At this point I'm all in for Fail for Hughes.

People are that down on Aho? I thought he was serviceable and I expect he'll be on the NHL roster come October unless EK really does have so much mercy in his veins he ends up here.

I still think Bailey gets a shot at C. We can not have Nellie at 2C or 3C, this team will not win 25 games if that happens.
Seems it fits his perimeter game since he wont go to a corner or kick out where he wont get damaged. Of course, Mr. Martin will make sure that players like Bailey, the kids - when they do get roughed up - payback is hell.

It’s what makes the Hickey signing so strange. Really thought we’d give Aho/Toews a real shot to make the team.
Aho was better than Pelech, Mayfield and Hickey on most nights last season.

What exactly do you expect? We have almost the same defense from last year, and it's a wash at goalie. I do expect improvement as well, but we were last in the league. If we can make it to middle of the league, that will be a massive accomplishment and that's probably best case scenario.
We lost 84 points and 35+ goals, where is that coming from?
We won't be a disgrace, but I don't think we'll be all that good either.

No, we will be a disgrace. We currently have (2.5) 4th Lines, (2) Mediocre Backup Goalies and an inexperienced blue line. This team will not finish outside the bottom 5. It's a shame because the same losing culture JT was subjected to as a young player is what Barzal and Beauvillier will have to go through for a few seasons. Almost every other conference foe has gotten better, Buffalo adds Dahlin and loses Lehner, Philly adds JVR ... we are going finish with OTT and ARI.

Think you’re being a little harsh on the players. Last season’s “system” is more to blame.
The players were lost/clueless in our own zone. Time after time players were left WIDE open in front of our net or in the slot. Goalies were not good but most of the time they were hung out to dry.
Trotz is a defensive specialist. Expect him to really clean this mess up.

He can clean up the mess, but you can't polish a turd enough to make it shine. We are devoid of real talent. If Barzal, Beauvillier, and Pulock take steps in their development, I consider that a success. The rest is going to be ugly.

I agree. This season we’ll lose because we don’t have the talent. Last season we lost because we were a disaster in our own zone
