My idea for this year was “wins required 16"
The idea is regular season stats, records, awards, win streaks, points, head to head results, don’t matter just the 16 wins.

Would look like this but say “Wins Required 16”

A more serious entry as opposed to a funny avatar theme.
But can be used for messing with the main board and go with a different theme when required.

Another theme concept, comparing ourselves to other all time great NHL teams and saying we're better than all of them (i.e. 70s Canadiens, 80s Oilers, Red Wings at their peak, Blackhawks and Pens, etc.)

I am rather partial to the GSW concept though as I feel thats a meme everyone on main board will recognize. Hmm.. what about.. Sunshine State Warriors?

How about we evolve each playoff round?

Round 2: on paper

ECF: BUT THEY HAVEN'T WON THE CUP YET!!

SCF: God willing we make it we become the GSW.

If we win we reach our final form as Stanley Cup champions


All we gotta do is tell people we haven't reached our final form.


And to be the heels we start our avatars now and wear them. I know it's a lot of work but it could be the most fun we've ever had and everyones idea will get used.

Personally, I love the "on paper" with a shitty doodle. GSW and arrogance is bliss would be good too.


Wrestling is too niche.

"On paper" with a stick figure doodle is my favorite as well. How many fricking times have we heard that phrase tossed at our team??

Just three basic frames needed unless fancy transitions are desired.

For example:

1. Pic of Hedman that says "Norris Winner"
2. Stick figure with a 77 on shirt - "on paper"
3. Stanley Cup playoffs logo w/ Lightning logo

I was actually contemplating doing that. Obviously they would mostly be my interpretation of said theme but easily tweaked when necessary.

Absolutely love this one.

I came up with the "Haven't won a cup" thing, but I think "on paper" trumps it. It's just easier to make the jokes clear (and funny).

We could bring the Cup one out as the ultimate "anti-jinx" in future years, if things go wrong this spring.
