Certainly not surprising the Leaf rating numbers are tanking. That is in response to all the morons that thought that when the Leafs got better so would the ratings. It is not surprising that the the fans on this board don't understand what drives viewership. but it is pretty sad that the guys calling the shots don't know either. Rogers keeps claiming they are making a profit on the hockey deal. I always thought I understood how the accounting works. Guess I don't.

Have you looked at a financial statement?

Lol i'm staring at Rodgers financial data. Check the supplemental financial data. Not sure where you are getting the 5% to be honest. Through 3 quarters this year compared to last year, they are up in revenue, and up in EBITDA in the media sections. Overall net income is higher too.

Financial Reports - Rogers Investor Relations

From your link:

Financial Highlights Higher revenue Total revenue increased 3% this quarter, largely driven by Wireless service revenue growth of 5%. Growth in Wireless was a result of our balanced approach to continue monetizing the increasing demand for data along with a disciplined approach around subscriber base management. Wireless equipment revenue grew 11% this quarter driven by increased hardware upgrades. Cable revenue increased 1% this quarter as Internet revenue growth of 8% continued to drive the Cable segment. This quarter, we had net additions of 35,000 for Internet. Media revenue decreased 5% this quarter primarily as a result of lower revenue at the Toronto Blue Jays. (LOL)

Not sure where you got your info. Not sure you know how to read a financial report. I do.

Ya I saw it showed declining revenue year over year. You should take a course.

If you are cherry picking a certain quarter versus same quarter in the prior year, then sure. But YTD, they haven't dropped, and are in fact higher in revenue than last year. So not sure what you are saying?

NFL regular season games beat HNIC Islanders/Leafs match.

But strong Leafs number in regional coverage.

Habs are still kings in Quebec.

I am very curious to see who wins the ratings night in Boston tonight. Celtics vs Brooklyn at 7:30 pm.... OR the big rivalry of Habs vs Bruins.. also at 7:30 pm.

any chance the Bruins can win the night or have the bruins become way back in 4th place now behind the Celtics?

I will be curious as well.

Bruins game was pushed back 30 minutes as NBC grabbed it as an exclusive so both games started at 7:30 PM

But the other factor was little pregame chatter for either team as the Patriots dominated the market today with postgame talk.

The Patriots’ 41-28 divisional-round victory over the Chargers Sunday was a ratings winner, too.

The game reached a 45.9 local household rating and a 76 market share in Boston, the highest rating of the season for the Patriots. The game averaged 1.8 million viewers.

thx guys. hard to believe Bruins outrated celtics and Sox, where baseball is KING. and both were deciding games. This confuses me alot. and Celtics were playing Lakers too.. a big rivalry team.

If i had to bet my money, i'd say B's outrated C's last night only because C's were down 24 after 3 quarters and i am sure a lot turned to Habs game cuz it was a great exciting close game till the end.. i hope we get to see the ratings.
