Absolutely no problem with someone going for an ENG with 2 seconds. If the net is empty, you haven't called uncle and everything is fair game.

If it were a Cap I would pissed to take the foot off the neck, and, goal differential is a thing too.

What is sad, is a guy scoring an ENG is what firms up rivals in the current climate, which creates the high ticket grudge matches all fans love.

I think part of the issue is it clearly wasn't just potting one to secure a W. Gourde was hunting fo this 20th and he celebrated as if he tapped in a Joe Juneau game 7 winner.


Also TBL was so far ahead in the standing so at that point goal differential was never a factor. I'll put it this way, Oshie probably doesn't race that way if it's Montreal doing that. They're a team trying to fight for the ploffs, trying to secure tie-breakers, and trying to build momentum.

Oshie probably had a bigger issue with it because it was a personal stat padding and it was done by a team that had trounced every team they'd played this season. You also have to factor in the existing bad blood.

Definitely some teams wondering how they helped allow Larkin to fall to #15. Of course, Pasternak went even later that year. At least Vrana provides something close to comparable value, relative to one other 2014 picks ahead of Larkin and Pasta.
