It will be Sault Ste. Marie vs. Hamilton in the OHL finals. SSM won Game 7 in double OT last night. We won't get the chance to see Verbeek vs. Bitten as Verbeek is out injured. But if SSM make it to the Memorial Cup, I don't know if he'll be ready by then. If yes, another Habs prospect will join Fleury in the tournament, whether it be Verbeek or Bitten.

Any word on his injury though?
Also game 7 tonight in the Q, hope to see Blainville move on and play Bathurst

Any reason the Soo are having so much trouble up to this point? They were far and way the best team in the West this season and needed 7 games for their last two opponents. I figured they’d steamroll everyone.

Le sean, for what it's worth, Kitchener was a team that was always built for the playoffs and never had a full lineup all season. Come playoffs, their vets upped their game as planned and they were VERY even with Soo when healthy.

Same for Owen Sound. They were the pre-season favourites in the O and had a brutal start due to injuries and new system. But they got back to elite in the second half.

So more a case of the conference having 4 elite teams in reality but not all showed all their cards in the season. Soo did.

Armada and Islanders playing Game 7 right now. Armada up 2-0. Alain with 1 goal, short-handed. His 14th of the playoffs.

Edit: They awarded it to Barre-Boulet finally. Alain with an assist on the play. His 24th point in 16 playoff games.

Can Tobie Paquette-Bisson be any good for Laval next year? + 45 this year with 27pts in 59 games and amother +17 in 16 playoff games. He's also pretty big at 6,3 and 200 pounds. Anyone got a scouting report?

He may have had a goal taken away from him earlier, but Alain just scored 38 seconds into the 2nd period. A PP goal. He has 1G and 1A so far tonight. He now has 14G, 11A for 25 pts.

The last QMJHLer to score at 1 goal per game pace playoffs was Anthony Mantha in 2014. Adam Erne came close with 21 in 22 games in 2015. (Among players who played at least 15 games)

Hey, guess who was named 1st star tonight. Go ahead. Guess.

Blainville-Boisbriand Armada vs. Acadie-Bathurst Titans for the Q finals. Should be a good one.

So all three CHL finals set:

QMJHL: Blainville-Boisbriand Armada vs. Acadie-Bathurst Titans (Alexandre Alain for Habs and hopefully Galipeau soon)

OHL: Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds vs. Hamilton Bulldogs (Will Bitten vs. Hayden Verbeek (though Verbeek is out with broken wrist))

WHL: Swift Current Broncos vs. Everett Silvertips

Waiting in the Memorial Cup for all the winners are the hosts Regina Pats with Cale Fleury.

Does Alain have top 6 nhl talent?

I think how he does in Laval will be a better indicator. Right now, if he's a Bottom-6 player, it's a win. But if he adjusts well to the pro game in Laval, we'll have a better idea.

One thing to remember is that the jump from junior to the AHL is a lot harder than the jump from AHL to NHL. In junior, you're playing against kids between 17-21. So when you jump to the AHL, you go from teenagers to men who have made a career in the pros. Guys playing for their jobs, for their financial security and their families. So it's an awakening for a lot of these kids. Whereas the jump from the AHL to the NHL is more about adjusting to the speed and skill level of the majors.
