Does a suspension during an AHL PTO 25 game contract count towards the 25 games? As example, Dalton Smith with Providence. Is on a PTO, played 17, and also served a 3 game suspension. Does his count remain at 17 or is it actually 20?

Not sure if this counts as good news or bad news but Derek DeBlois was signed to a SPC and demoted to the ECHL on the same day.

DeBlois has registered 5 points in 30 games with Lake Erie this season.

According to theahl.com, Benn Ferriero was released from his SPC with Providence on January 30th.

Ferriero was held without a point in 7 contests with the P-Bruins.

However, he was still around the team a few days ago...

not mention on eliteprospects.

It's hard to keep track of these moves when the players don't officially announce it themselves! Nevertheless, good job finding all this info!
-------------------------------------------------
Unknown contracts (PTOs or SPCs?)
Grand Rapids : Joel Rechlicz
Providence : Dalton Smith
Springfield : Daniel New

- Rechlicz (8 0-0-0) has been used sparsely by GR
- Smith (17 1-0-1) has only dressed for one game since December 11.
- New (10 0-3-3) has only played one game since December 9.

------------------------------------------------------------
Here are a few players who have entered the "unknown contract" territory now that they have played over 25 games.

There seems to be no information as to whether those players are signed to a PTO or a SPC.

Kyle Flanagan (Binghamton) 30 5-7-12
Joe Rehkamp (Lehigh Valley) 30 1-2-3
Kyle Bonis (San Diego) 28 4-4-8
Mike Cornell (Charlotte) 26 3-3-6

Approaching unknown contract territory...
Zack Torquato (Chicago) 20 2-1-3
Tony Turgeon (Portland) 20 0-1-1
Manny Malhotra (Lake Erie) 18 3-1-4
Ethan Werek (Charlotte) 18 6-2-8

If I'm not mistaken John Kurtz (25 2-0-2) and David Shields (12 2-4-6) from Utica are the only players currently playing in the AHL who have reportedly signed a 2nd PTO.

Dalton Smith signs with Lehigh Valley.
John Kurtz signs a Pto with Toronto.

That's why I remain careful before adding a player to the list.

X amount of time spent on the roster or X numbers of games played doesn't necessarily translate to ''being signed to an AHL contract.''

NEWS: The Checkers have signed Ethan Werek (22 8-3-11) to an AHL contract
