Link/Confirmations

Albany :
Though Matt Lorito ’15 did not end his last season for the men’s hockey team as he had hoped, he is starting his post-Brown hockey career on a better note. Not only did he sign an ATO, but he also has a contract in place for the next season in the AHL.
http://www.browndailyherald.com/2015/03/16/lorito-15-signs-with-devils-affiliate/

The Devils again were strong defensively. They allowed 201 goals, lowest among the 14 teams that didn't make the playoffs.

"We're not where we want to be today," said captain Rod Pelley, who is under contract for next season. "We set a goal at the beginning of the year and fell short of it. That's a little bit disappointing."

Grand Rapids :
The Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday assigned defenseman Scott Czarnowczan to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. In addition, the Griffins re-signed Czarnowczan to a one-year contract for the 2015-16 season.

Two more signings :

Regina Pats captain Braden Christoffer has signed an AHL contract with the top affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, according to a source. Christoffer, an undrafted free agent, recently agreed to a one-year deal with the Oklahoma City Barons.

The 20-year-old winger is not expected to join the AHL club until next season, when it is relocated to Bakersfield, California. However, he is slated to attend Edmonton's summer prospects camp as well as joining the NHL club for a rookie tournament to be held in Penticton, B.C., in the fall.

Christoffer, who spent three seasons in Regina, exhausted his WHL eligibility this spring after recording career highs with 26 goals, 59 points and 147 penalty minutes while playing all 72 regular-season games

Montreal Canadiens and St. John’s IceCaps General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the IceCaps have signed forward Brandon McNally to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

Originally signed in March to a professional try out contract with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate in Hamilton, McNally recorded three points (two goals, one assist) and eight penalty minutes in 11 games.

In 105 career NCAA games with Dartmouth College from 2011 to 2015, the 6-2, 215-pound forward recorded 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) and 196 penalty minutes. Before college, the Saugus, Mass. native played at Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Mass.

And one player leaving for Europe.
Derek Meech is headed to Sweden and signed a two-year contract with the Malmo Redhawks, the SHL team announced on it’s website this morning.

Meech played 99 regular season games for the Texas Stars and helped hoist the Calder Cup in 2014.

Are the Flames still in Adirondack? I thought they were moving to California with other organizations - Or is that another year or two off?

No, you're right. Calgary's farm team is now located in Stockton.

In other news, Nathan Longpre has taken enough abuse from the Chicago Wolves. After spending four years with the Chicago Wolves organisation, Longpre is heading to Norway where he'll play for the team of Lørenskog. (Source Eliteprospects)

In this time with Chicago, Longpre was loaned twice to other AHL teams and he had to deal with the precarious nature of PTOs contract several times. Also, despite being a four-year pro, he was assigned to the ECHL of the first time in his career in 2014-2015.

I still thought they were with Abbotsford, looked it up and went "Oh it was Adirondack this year", then realized a couple hours after posting it that they were moving to California. Quit moving cities, guys, it's messing with my head!

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens and St. John’s IceCaps General Manager Marc Bergevin announced on Monday the IceCaps have signed defenceman Josiah Didier to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

Originally signed in March to a professional try out contract with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate in Hamilton, Didier recorded an assist and five penalty minutes in eight games.
http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=770200

Didier, 22, was originally a 4th round pick, 97th overall in 2011
