Actually the contract that Gill signed is a PTO

Looks like RW Joe Basaraba is signed to an AHL contract with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

There are conflicting reports on this one! According to the Rampage's website, he was released along with the other players on tryouts. I'll wait for another confirmation before adding him to the list!

Just tossing some numbers out here, do with this information as you please.

I started to notice an influx in teams signing AHL contracts this year in compared to years past. So I started to to some math.

Upon the completion of the 2013-14 season, there were a total of 225 recorded AHL contracts (these numbers direct from Booba's 2013-14 AHL contracts thread).

Mere days from puckdrop on the 2014-15 season, and there are already 190 AHL contracts signed. A difference of 35. Which seems like a pretty drastic incline. I reckon those 35 will be surpassed before season's end.

Sorry, I find this stuff fascinating haha

Trevor Gillies has an AHL contract with the Flames. During the game friday night the Flames play by play guy stated that all players on tryout agreements had been cut. Since Gillies was in the lineup, I would suspect that he has an AHL deal.
