Well then. Just like that my optimism is gone.
Henchy is right, I am just holding out hope that he will be replaced (and won't likely be, at least for the forthcoming season)...but I can hope.
Well then. Just like that my optimism is gone.
Isn't Hamilton still excempt since he has a '92 birthday? He should have an extra year on Hishon, at least according to the rules I found, even though they both signed in the spring of 2011.
Or you know, keep their existing captain Gervais around. Let's not rule that one out either. Goes back to the problem we kicked around the other day though, it's crowded on defense already. I guess AHL only contracts a re up in the air but most of those would start in the ECHL anyway.
Speaking of...... any idea what happens with that next year? Do we stay on with Fort Wayne or will we get a different ECHL affiliate? If we don't keep Fort Wayne, does LE still stick with them as part of the Blue Jacket's organization?
I asked one of the FW beat writers and he said their affiliation is with Colorado (as opposed to Lake Erie) but he said they'll know more this summer. It's nice to have them close for quick travel between but I don't think it's critical. San Antonio's (really Florida's) ECHL affiliate right now is Cincinnati, so that's certainly not any closer. If I had to guess it will stay the same, seems to have worked out. Columbus' is in Kalamazoo so that's pretty close anyway.
Nothing is super close anyway, if they have to get on a plane then it really doesn't make a difference. Even Tulsa they'd have to fly to. Texas' ECHL team is Idaho, so much of it makes little sense.
I'm all for staying with Ft Wayne myself. A little stability would be nice and I think FW actually helped our players, it was a good place for them to go. Maybe they wish we could have sent them more players (they are going to be pissed if Heard sits all weekend) but the ones we've given them have been good players for them.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. Spurs are one of the best organizations in all of pro sports. Not sure if that means anything for the Rampage or not but it can't hurt to be in business with good people. Certainly better than scum like Dan Gilbert.
Surprised they went for five years when there has been so much talk about them trying to put a team in Colorado. We don't know about opt outs though and I guess the two sides can agree to end it earlier if they really want to.
I don't know man, I kinda like them. They kept them the same as the Spurs colours. Nice and simple. Slap an Avs patch on it and it's good.
Curious, what is the low down on Chynoweth and why you don't like him? Like what is his system and such?
From the Exhibit 1A file of the above, Geertsen scratched for Lauridsen tonight. Sami is in net too, it's the farewell tour for their last night in Cleveland.
