It's almost as if the ice is too big for Sedins. They get too far from each other and the defense get to regroup. It's when they are around the net they look dangerous.

Eriksson is a silent assassin. He's not the most physical guy but finds a way to create space for himself.

Ossi Väänänen interview after the game.

"Why did Sweden win this game?"
- Well, the Sedins...

Well it basically came down to 2 things:

1. We didn't score ourselvers (the big reason)
2. The Sedins (the small reason).

EJ looks pretty good in the USA-Swiss game.

Really? I think he held on to the puck for too long a couple of times and he looks tenative, the Swiss are really taking it to the USA, they've outshot the USA 18-9 in the 1st period and Gibson is the main reason they aren't up by a couple of goals right now.

Palushaj took a bad penalty when he pushed a Swiss player from behind into the boards, he was baited into it a little bit, but still a bad play.

Nino scores on a feed by Pluss after a bad giveaway at the USA's blueline. Hunny and EJ were on the ice and I think it was Palushaj who turned over the puck, just a bad play all around by the USA.

It was a bad turnover by Palushaj. Good finish by Nino though.

Palushaj gives away the puck while EJ is near the centre ice line (I have no idea why he decided to skate so far ahead of the puck carrier), Hunny is the only one back, he missplays the 2 on 1 situation and Nino puts it in. USA is turning over the puck way too much today.

Yea EJ hasn't looked good this period.

He was better in the first.

Stastny has once again been by far US's best player again. Just giving a 125% effort everywhere on the ice.

How the hell are the Swiss doing this? They are absolutely dominating this tourney, going undefeated.

They beat Canada twice, beat the Czech's twice, shut out USA, and now face Sweden for gold, whom they also beat in their first game. No matter how that game goes, hats off to the Swiss.

Great skating, relentless backchecking, a 1-3-1 neutral zone setup teams struggle beating and opportunistic counter attacking.
