Also, is Andre "The French Canadian Crippler" Benoit on an emergency call-up to replace Lundin? Otherwise, he would have to clear waivers.

Thanks Waste Man.

Why do I feel so optimistic this season, despite this team being filled with rookies/unknowns at the backend while missing an important piece in Cowen? The team is also experimenting with a rookie and a veteran forward who has never played a complete season (1 x 80 game season 20 years ago) on the top-6. So why feel so optimistic? Why why?

I think it's because everybody thought that this team would be a bottom five team in the league, but instead made the playoffs with what many believe to be a team worse than this years. In my opinion, we have nowhere to go but up.

He is a rookie, and he knows his place. He is saying all the right things, he knows he will be in the lineup, but will not come out and say it before Maclean puts it in writing.

That would make sense if Maclean didnt already come out and say he was apart of the top 6 ..Wondering if something has changed

No nothing has changed, he is just playing the role of rookie. Will not admit to playing until it is set in stone (Macleans line-up given out), even though everyone knows he will be playing.

Pretty sure Silf said he was very proud to play for the city of Binghamton at one point. Considering how other swedes have taken to bingo, I'd say Silf understands how to deal with media and keep attention off him. This guys probably always gonna be understated the way alfie is.

"I'll just be happy to play in the NHL" doesn't mean he isn't confident he can produce. Looks like a guy that will be money below the hash marks. Great on his inside edges, great puck control, and that shot

benoit is not on an emergency recall. This is the start of a new season, assume his last 4 months in bingo never happened... he would have had to clear anyways.

pretend this was training camp in september. All players on nhl contracts or nhl-ahl two-ways start in ottawa, and then as they are cut get sent down to binghamton. If they are not waiver-exempt, they have to clear waivers to go down.

In other words, unless Benoit is atrocious, or PW/BORO doesn't significantly out play him, one of the young guys will be sent back down when Sundin's brother is back. Of course Lehner could be sent down as well, but I don't believe PMac will carry 8 healthy defencemen in the roster - especially when one of the younger guys can play full-time in the A to really compete for a spot next season.
