My bad missed Regain, I am guessing Grant is staying.

Really sucks about Zibanejad. I don't want to call him a bust just yet but he's shown almost nothing so far and hasn't really improved since he was drafted.

In retrospect Dougie Hamilton would have been a much better pick, especially since the Sens picked two more forwards a little bit later in the draft and with the emergence of Stone and Silfverberg.

Stone, Hoffman, and Silfverberg are the forwards that will get invited from B-Sens. Zibby not, even though Murray says he's healthy enough to. (Paraphrasing SensChirp tweet.)

I'm fine with that. Z-bad's been out of action for what, a month or more now? Let him play in Bingo, it will be exciting to see him try to generate some offense in the AHL first.

Anyone think Stone has a chance to stick? I do.

Latendresse - Spezza - Michalek
Silverberg - Turris - Alfredsson
Greening - Regin - Condra
O'Brien - Smith - Neil
Daugavins

If Stone stays, he needs to push one of these aside. I think Murray wants him in the Top 6 and MacLean will give a lot of rope to Latendresse to see what he can do. I really think that's the guy he'll have to push.

Love to see it happen, but a year in Binghamton is not going to hurt him. Hoffman is the guy I want to see up close. He's been one of the last cuts for two years. He could edge out Daugavins at the least.

With 12 forwards already signed to contracts & a shortened season I'm not surprised that the Murray's keep Zibanejad in Bingo for the season. Silfverberg is obviously NHL ready & should be the first forward called up. I think Lehner will stay in Bingo as well unless Bishop is traded to bring in a young defenceman.

Nothing wrong with Zib not being invited, he has been out of action for more then a month. If there was a season he would have been at original training camp, but where this is taking place during on-going seasons, him staying down and playing valuable minutes in Bingo is huge for his development. People seem to forget he is 19 years old.

I think considering where Stone is slotted in Bingo, they've been prepping him to work up from the bottom six in the NHL. With that said, I think next year is when he makes it. Once Silf and maybe Hoffman moves up, he will jump into the top 6 most definentely.

Is Stone confirmed to attend camp? I could see Dacosta getting it over him, they probably want to show him off as a trade bait, he kind of paid his dues plus he and Silver just look a step ahead of everyone.

I would be surprised if Stone is at camp. Da Costa is older, has more experience, and Stone would benefit from top 6 minutes in the AHL which he isn't receiving now.

I would think the only forwards at camp will be Silf, Hoffman and Da Costa.

As it is a shortened training camp with less cuts, older more experienced guys, and a guy like Silf, will be given the call.

Wayne Scanlan tweeted that Stone would be invited to camp about an hour ago.

Operasen and Officer Farva make good points. There might be too much top-6 competition for Stone to stick here, and he might get better development as a top-6 forward in Bingo. There's no need for him to push Condra or O'Brien out of their spots. Stone and Zibby in Bingo, called up for injuries and rest days given the compressed schedule.

Well the top two lines will probably look like this:

Spezza - Michalek - ???
Turris - Alfie - Latendresse

With either Silfverberg or Stone filling that top spot. Whether or not they keep both in the NHL depends on Alfie's status. The guy is old and reportedly is having back problems. If his role has to be reduced the best bet to replace him is probably Stone/Silf. If it were me I'd bump Alfie to the 3rd line and put Stone in his spot for the first little bit and see how it works out.

The bottom two lines will be something like:

??? - Greening - Neil
Smith - ??? - ???

I'm not sure if Neil will play on the 3rd or 4th but this is going to be an area that will change a lot over the season. I'm also not sure how they'll fill the holes here. There are still a fair number of scrap heap free agents, many of whom are not terribly exciting to think about. I think they try to get 1 FA and fill the rest with low-ceiling B-Sens players who they think could hack it in the NHL.

Stone has probably been better than Da Costa in terms of two-way play in Bingo, and the Sens might consider calling him up for a bottom six spot at some point if there are injuries, hence their selection of him for camp versus Da Costa, ZBad or one of the better defensive forwards in Bingo (Grant, Dz etc.). His skill level makes him intriguing in our bottom six in terms of augmenting our offence a bit.

Hopefully Anderson and Bishop play solid and make the decision easy for Lehner. Would suck to be forced into a trade too early in the season. Lehner will be the starter as early as next year, but him being the clear starter at camp creates an awkward situation for the Sens in terms of maxing out the return our goalie assets.

Wouldn't be shocked of Claessen is the 8th d-man, which will be mainly just for his experience. Could be Gryba though, given our lack of strength on the blueline. If Boro and/or Phillips get hurt, we may actually call him up... <shudder>.

I'd be stunned if Stone got slotted ahead of Silfverberg. Even if Silfverberg has a bad camp, I still think he'll start in the top 6 based on his play in Bingo.

If Alfie is slowed, they MIGHT consider Stone, but given he hasn't really been playing a top 6 spot in Bingo, I doubt we dump him there that early. I think they might consider one of Hoffman, Regin or Greening for a top 6 spot as required.

Condra is assured a spot, and I suspect Regin, JOB and Daugavins fill out the top 13 spots when camp breaks. Hoffman and Stone are on the outside looking in, but are getting the call-up for experience I expect. Team probably expects both to see time with the Sens at some point as a call-up.

I think this team might miss Winchester more than we think.

The guy had the lowest offensive zone start % on the team last year because he was so good at taking defensive faceoffs, which freed up Spezza to take more offensive zone faceoffs to create offense.

Right now, looking at the projected centers we have at training camp, I don't see a faceoff specialist not named Spezza on the team.

I loved Winny, and agree he could be missed on out first pk, and in defensive situations. The guy played the most pk minutes on our team last year even after missing a good amount of games. Having said that, O'Brien is pretty good at faceoffs or am I wrong?

He hasn't signed with anyone. If they want him, they can get him.
