Weird...I thought they already had too many goaltenders...

Dubnyk
Bryzgalov
Labarbera
---------AHL
Bachman
Brossoit
--------
Bunz (ECHL)
Rimmer (CHL)

I thought so, too. When Bob Stauffer tweeted the Oilers had Dubie, Labarbera, Bachman, Brossoit and Bunz under contract, I asked him about Rimmer, but he never replied.

Other PTO news from the last few days
-Bridgeport signed Chris Langkow and Sean Wiles to PTOs
-Hamilton released Akim Aliu from his PTO
-Rockford signed Blake Kessel to a PTO
-Utica released Brayden Irwin, Kelsey Wilson and Mitch Wahl from their PTOs

Utica also signed Cal O'Reilly to a PTO today. O'Reilly, who was just released from the KHL, has 113 NHL games to his credit and some big seasons in the AHL (65 pts in 78 GP; 79 in 80; 69 in 67 and 40 in 35).

He didn't want to play in the ECHL so that's why he was released by Hamilton.

It also seems like he didn't want to play in the LNAH either. At eliteprospects, we received an email from either Chaput or a friend/agent saying that Chaput didn't want his LNAH stats to show up on his eliteprospects' profile...

The info was also posted on the Comets' website but it has now been deleted...

Talking about mistakes, it seems like the IceCaps had signed Zach O'Brien : http://www.stjohnsicecaps.com/article/icecaps-re-assign-two-players-and-release-seven/

However, he signed a PTO with Manchester today...

That's really odd: "Don't let anyone know that I played in that league when it was widely-reported that I'd signed with said league."

-It's now official, but he was given a SPC rather than a PTO

-Wilkes-Barres have suspended Peter Mannino
http://citizensvoice.com/sports/penguins-suspend-mannino-for-not-reporting-to-wheeling-1.1588401
Mannino is the second player on an AHL contract who fails the report to Wheeling this year. The other one was Stefan Chaput (originally signed by Hamilton).

According to their linkedin profiles, Hunter Tremblay (St.John's), Brian O'Hanley (San Antonio) and Scott Wietecha (Hershey) have retired.

It's highly probable that the remaining free agents have also retired : Joe Callahan (Abbotsford), David Laliberté (Adirondack), Bryan Haczyk (Albany), Brad Peltz (Binghamton), Brett Lebda (Binghamton), Olivier Fortier (Hamilton), Jon Kalinski (Hershey), Mike Montgomery (Houston), Mike Brodeur (Houston), Sean Lorenz (Houston), *Paul Mara (Houston), Patrick Rissmiller (Rochester) and Richard Petiot (St.John's).

It seems that Paul Mara wanted to have one last chance to play in the NHL but if it wasn't going to work out, he wasn't going to stay in the minors "forever".

Also, I believe that Sergei Kostenko (Hershey) is playing somewhere in Russia but I can't find any info about it.

The Norfolk Admirals have signed goaltender Brad Thiessen to an American Hockey League contract.

Thiessen, 27, cleared AHL waivers on Thursday morning. He began the 2013-14 season with HIFK of Finland's SM-liiga, appearing in 15 games, and was released by the club on Nov. 19.

Thiessen has spent the last four seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, appearing in 149 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and posting a record of 88-49-6 with a 2.44 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage and 17 shutouts.

Added

I'll also add Dean Arsene and Kane Lafranchise for Abbotsford. Arsene upgraded his PTO to a SPC while Lafranchise was recalled (not loaned) from Abbotsford's ECHL affiliate which means that he was signed to a SPC...at some point in time...

Patrick Rissmiller, who was under contrat with Rochester last season, signed with Ritten/Renon in Italy.

-*San Antonio has traded Dov Grumet-Morris to Harford for future considerations
-Chris VandeVelde was released from his SPC and signed to a two-way contract by Philadelphia.

San Antonio currently has only one goaltender on its roster. They'll likely sign Rob Madore to a PTO or a SPC.

I've seen it out there, but nobody really credible has said it, that Hamilton has re-signed Nathan McIver (terms not disclosed) and Maxime Macenauer (1 year).

Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have signed forward Maxime Macenauer to a one-year American Hockey League contract as well as defenceman Nathan McIver to another 25-game professional try out contract.

San Antonio signs Rob Madore and sends Jack Combs to the ECHL (which confirms that Combs has an AHL contract)
http://www.sarampage.com/features/?article_id=2505

Combs has been one of the biggest disappointments in the AHL this season. Last year, he scored 12 goals and added 7 assists in 18 games with San Antonio but this year, he only 2 assists in 16 games.

I also found a confirmation that Daine Todd was signed to an AHL deal by Portland.
http://portlandpirates.com.ismmedia... Notes/Bio Pack Manchester 10.9.13 Merged.pdf

Also, Brett Olson has now 28 games this season with Abbotsford which means that his unknown contract is in a fact a SPC (AHL contract).

Remaining unknown contracts
Abbotsford : Brett Olson, Zach McKelvie and Braden Lamb
Albany : Chris McKelvie, Kelly Zajac and Corbin McPherson
Iowa : Warren Peters
Norfolk: Garnet Exelby, Maxime Sauvé and Ryan Parent
