The Falcons announced Thursday that the team has, by mutual consent, released Broc Little from his American Hockey League standard player contract.

- Steve Bégin just called it a career. He was signed by Abbotsford during the offseason but he didn't play any games this season due to injuries.

- Peter Mannino (Wilkes-Barres) has finally accepted to play for Wheeling. He was suspended back in November after he refused to report to the Nailers. http://citizensvoice.com/sports/penguins-suspend-mannino-for-not-reporting-to-wheeling-1.1588401

I just saw the bit about Broc Little. Is he going back to Europe or signing with an NHL team?

Signed a PTO today with Iowa of the AHL. I guess he felt a chance to move up higher in the lineup and play more regularly was worth more than the security of an SPC.

And...he's gone

If you can't make heads or tails of that translation ("Two of wind during the middle Little Sweden. , Broc Little is fast and skillful player, the direction of the attack features are top notch."), it basically says he's signing in Jokerit of Finland.

Steve Eminger has signed with Norfolk.
http://www.norfolkadmirals.com/release_story1.php?id=3080

According to theahl.com's transaction page, Utica has signed Kent Huskins to a SPC.
http://theahl.com/stats/transactions.php?f_season_id=43&f_team_id=390

Unknown contracts
Abbotsford : Zach McKelvie
Norfolk: Maxime Sauvé
Springfield : Ryley Grantham

- Maxime Sauvé has now played over 25 games so I'll add him to the list
- Ryley Grantham was released from his PTO and returned to Allen (CHL)

I'll also add Cam Reid who was recalled by Lake Erie back in december.

The Abbotsford Heat announced today that they have signed forward Trevor Gillies.

http://www.abbotsfordheat.com/news/?article_id=739

Theahl.com just confirmed that it's a SPC.

I'll also add Zach McKelvie who played 9 games with Abbotsford this season before being loaned to Alaska (ECHL).

In other news, Jack Downing has been released from his contract with Providence

It may sound contradictory but Downing was released from his AHL contract because he wanted to have a greater chance to be called up to the AHL.

Signing a two-way AHL/ECHL contract can sometime be risky because you can get stuck in the ECHL if your team has too much depth.

Iowa signed Marc Hagel to an SPC today.

Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Friday the American Hockey League club (AHL) has signed forward Marc Hagel to a standard player contract for the 2013-14 season.

Hagel, 26 (09/02/88) has skated in 18 games with the Wild during the 2013-14 season, tallying seven points (4-3=7). The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Ontario, Canada is a plus-3 rating and has registered 19 penalty minutes (PIM).

And he signed a PTO today with Iowa so, so far, it's working!

Robin Soudek seems to have an AHL contract with Lake Erie, was recalled today from Denver (CHL)

I was wondering about that. I saw the transaction but couldn't figure out if he had actually signed with the Avs. A contract with Lake Erie would make a lot more sense.

per the AHL website, Portland has released Keven Veilleux from his SPC. I saw that they suspended him last weekend, I wonder if he has a deal in Europe or something.

EDIT:

per Patricia Teter
Former Portland & Gwinnett Keven Veilleux has agreed the terms with HC05 Banská Bystrica - Slovak Extraliga for the rest of 2013-14 season.

So, that's that.
