Oh hi, another day, another 2 goals for Zharkov. Gaunce had a goal and two assists and Subban made 33 saves on 34 shots. This reoccurring theme makes me smile. Zharkov now with 11 goals and 4 assists in 11 games.

Hey guys, I am now accepting lists from others.

I have put days into this page, constantly finding information on players, and updating CHL stats daily, now it's your guys turn to help out.

I live on Vancouver Island, and currently a Grade 12 Student in High School and it is EXTREMELY hard to really catch any other games other then Victoria Royals games (Balancing School etc). I want this to be the main source for scouts and for you guys, and I am trying as best as I can to make this happen.

What I was thinking, is that I know that their are members from all around the world, and there are plenty of players I haven't seen yet. I want to prepare an ultimate list before the new year coming up for everyone to use.

This is exciting because I can use various peoples opinions, and discussion.

You will remain anonymous, unless you want to be mentioned.
Please send me these through PERSONAL MESSAGE, as I want this to be your on opinion, not anyone elses.

If you do send a list, please do it by NHL potential, not based on statistics.

If you have only seen one team, please send me a list as well, any feeback is appreicated.

EXAMPLE:
Victoria Royals (WHL)

1. Steven Hodges, C, Victoria Royals (WHL)
2. Brandon Magee, C, Victoria Royals (WHL)
3. Logan Nelson, LW, Victoria Royals (WHL) (Overager)
4. Zane Jones, LW, Victoria Royals (WHL)
5. Austin Carroll, RW, Victoria Royals (WHL)
6. Brett Cote, D, Victoria Royals (WHL)
7. Jared Rathjen, G, Victoria Royals (WHL)

PLEASE state if a player is an overager (Isn't born between September 16, 1993 - September 15, 1994)

A little write up would also be appreciated, but not neccesary.

I have only seen games in the QMJHL, and 5 in the OHL

Not a good year for Defensemen, and I do not know enough about evaluating goalies to rank them.

1. Mikhail Grigorenko
2. Martin Frk (Based completely on his play last year and pedigree)
3. Charles Hudon
4. Rapheal Bussieres
5. Andrew Ryan

I feel there is a drop off after these guys.

6. Dillon Fournier
7. Denis Kamaev
8. Matej Beran
9. Christophe Lancette
10. Luca Ciampini (someone may take a flyer on his potential, but I wouldn't take him before the 5th)

This list is dead on, from what I have heard when it comes to talent from the Q.

Can anyone tell me a bit about Lalancette?

Anyone know how long Fournier is going to be out for with that shoulder injury?

Lalancette has been improving lately. He's not being given the prime offensive chances because he plays behind the best line in the league. He's very talented, hard working 2 way guy. I think he's a guy who will rise (I already have him ahead of Beran and Fournier), especially if the Titan unload with trades.

If he were playing with a team like Rimouski or Gatineau, he'd be mentionned in the 2nd tier of Q players this year.

Isn't Ciampini relatively highly regarded?

Before the season began he was, and still is by some people, viewed as a late first, early second guy.

In my opinion, which does not mean much compared to the guys being paid, he is more of a 4th-5th round project, similar to J.S Allard was in 07.

He is the third best draft prospect on the Moose at the moment, behind Frk and Ryan.

Thought it would be interesting to compile the 3 star selections in the Q and see who's doing what. (3pts for a 1st star, 2pts for 2nd etc).

If you calculate star points per game, Gatineau's Soumakis is only behind Hudon; ahead of Grigorenko. On the other hand, Soumakis' linemate Taylor Burke is surprisingly low.

I know the stat is completely subjective and means nothing, but it's nonetheless quite interesting.

Oh yeah sorry about that.

Some interesting names from the Q that doesn't get much respect:

Liam O'Brien
Brett Malone
Charles-David Beaudoin
James Melindy
Étienne Marcoux

Watch out for those sleepers.

I don't like O'Brien or Beaudoin at all, to be honest. Their games just don't seem like a good fit for the higher levels. Haven't seen the others yet.

Sure Beaudoin is a little small for a D but it shouldn't hurt him that much. He actually likes playing with an edge and is a great skater with a good vision. I really like his poise for a 17 years old. Solid player.

How is O'Brien not a good fit for the higher levels? Kid is big, hits absolutely everything in sight and never takes a shift off. A really intense player like this who loves to grind it out and drives the net like crazy. Has decent hands as well... definitely a good 3rd line project for any NHL team.

My 2 cents. ;)

Brett Malone is nothing special, a 3rd line grinder at the QMJHL level. He isn't a good skater and doesn't have much skills. He works hard along the boards, that's about it.

Melindy is not underrated, I think most would have him around 3rd round.

Nothing you said about O'Brien is wrong. Problem for me is that an NHL comparison for him is JF Jacques. Jacques has better hands (which says a lot) and much more size. O'Brien is not strong enough on or off the puck, he gets pushed around too much. He's big for the Q, but not particularly big for the NHL.

I have no clue where you get the decent hands bit. Hands of stone when I saw him. Couldn't control a pass nevermind deflect a shot on goal. I'd much rather have a player like Taylor Burke who plays a more controlled style and not like a dog without a leash, because Burke has that offensive capability and he's solid on his skates. I've seen O'Brien go in for a hit and end up on his rear more than once. And I haven't seen him play that much.

Beaudoin is not all that special for me either. If you are going to be a 5'11 defenseman in the NHL, you need to have some sort of redeeming quality. I'm just not that convinced with him. I'd much rather have the under-talked-about Ryan Culkin from the Q.

Conz is still draft eligible?

wasn't he passed over 3 times already?

bit of a shame really so the guy's not a giant. Neither was Arthurs Irbe (also 5'10" or 5'11" i think) he had a pretty good career.
