Has there been any progression with his migraine disorder? Or is there any way for him to progress his? Seems like a horrendous thing to have so hopefully it doesn’t plague him his whole life/career.

The balance between releasing information and what is ongoing behind the scenes is open to conjecture. This is the GM's latest:

Patrick accepts Flyers' qualifying offer, setting up next step for 2020-21

“Before camp, Nolan will come back into town and he’ll be able to see our medical people and skate with our group and then proceed into training camp," Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said last weekend. "Right now, he’s doing well. He continues to feel better. He was in [Brandon, Manitoba] a couple of weeks ago, spent two weeks there skating with a group run by Ryan White, he was scrimmaging. Out there every day working out and he continues to progress and feel good. You can’t predict the future, but certainly all signs are progressing the right way."

Locker room guys are only good if they're useless on the ice. Skilled players aren't allowed to be locker room guys.

You need to learn how to be a f***ing flyer, apparently.

I hope he’s still teaching all the leafs players the same. Will they even make it out of an all Canadian division this year?

Prediction: Nolan will be the 3rd line center for Game 1 of the 20-21 season. What happens beyond that is anyone's guess. I predict he stays mostly healthy and hits 35 points. The breakout comes the following season.

My exact prediction as well.

The part I'm most excited about - other than him being healthy, of course- is the ability to have a net front presence on the PP again. Sure, im excited to have him as a mid 6C, but we already have a young player who could've filled that role with similar production.

Then again, Therrien will likely put him at the point with Provorov instead of in front of the net, so maybe I shouldn't be as excited as I am.

The best part about Therrien is that the entire board is united in their hatred of him. There are no sides with this one.

I think he can be a PP player similar to Simmonds (in production, not just style) while being a better 5v5 scorer. When he replaced Simmonds in that spot during his rookie year he looked great.

I expect Patrick to be ok and play this year. Getting better as the year goes on. I think the season will be shortened probably between 48 and 60, maybe 70 if they push it games. That will effect stat expectations. I don’t think there is anyway to have an 82 game season.

Some things are absolute.

Michael Therrien being universally despised because of his inability to coach the powerplay is most definately one.
Yeah, I'm happy with AV's and Yeo's first year, but Therrien has been a disappointment.

Well, to be fair, any PP coach would struggle with Simmonds and Schenn gone, and Patrick and Lindblom out - Flyers were left with only one "sniper," in TK, who isn't comfortable in that role on the PP, and no net front presence, though Voracek tried. JVR is a high danger area scorer, but he doesn't usually park himself in front of the goalie, setting screens.

Of course, Therrien didn't exactly show a lot of creativity or flexibility in responding to a bad situation.

Good coaches know how to adjust with the staff they have. They don't continue to try the same thing over and over and expect different results.

Good coaches also don't even bother trying things as unbelievably stupid as the things this staff has tried. Like Giroux on the wrong side, as just one of many examples.

Are you seriously trying to defend him? Listen ... I’m not an analytical guy or try to pretend I’m played hockey BUT as a guy who gets drunk and watches the Flyers. ... it’s not hard to realize that He totally f***ed up moving G off the left half wall and not moving him back. Let alone the choice of D running the power play. I may fall into the eye test group but through my drunk eyes, he completely screwed our PP
