What's the general opinion on Mission Impossible vs James Bond films recently? Not sure if it's a controversial one, but my opinion -- MI is better if you're comparing it against the Craig era of Bond films. Just a more entertaining and fun movie experience.

I love them both tbh. The MI series is more enjoyable though I'd agree, definitely a more fun/entertaining movie experience. Action is great in both though. I like the characters in the MI films a lot more, even though I'm a big fan of Craig's bond

Yeah I've felt this way for a bit and it was cemented by No Time To Die, which squeezed the last possible bit out of joy out of this era of Bond. The films have become far too self-absorbed and serious, and any reboot needs to bring at least some levity back to the franchise. It will all come down to casting I think- will we get a dashing spy who can wink at the audience every so often, or more darkly-shot melodrama?

Mission Impossible films are actually fun so I'll go with them over the Craig Bonds easily.

Casino Royale is better than any of these newer MI movies but the Bond movies didn’t reach that height again. MI has been very good for a fun action movie experience.

I marked out when I heard Kittridge's voice. Crazy to think I was in still in high school when MI1 was released. If you had told me that the franchise would have still been going after MI2, I would have been shocked.

That was the first movie that my high school girlfriend (now wife) and I saw together as a couple.

I missed entire subtleties in the plot because I was nervously deciding how far I should go with my arm.

Well, how far did you go with your arm?

Did you make it all the way to your elbow?

This is a few months old, but I missed it and didn't see it around here. It's a "Thank you" for making Top Gun: Maverick a success, but done while filming a Mission: Impossible stunt, so it seems relevant enough for this thread (and I don't want to keep digging for the Top Gun: Maverick thread).

This man is amazing.

98% critic score at RT after 102 reviews.

IGN says that it's easily the funniest movie in the franchise, which is surprising.

It's crazy that Tom has a good chance to have the biggest Summer movie three years in a row (after Part Two next Summer).

MI: GP was the funniest one IMO thanks largely to Renner and Pegg. So if it will have that extra humour to go with the action I'm really looking forward to it.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout was almost perfect. Cant imagine, they push the level even higher.
