I wouldn't mind knight at 19. Theres also some decent potential late round fallers and early second rounders. Foote is one i would like to see us take in second round.

I think I would take a forward/Dman at 19th and hope for Knight to maybe get pass the 1st round.

If he does, take him at 32.
If he doesn't, maybe take Soogard who's a giant 6'7 goalie with the 44th, if they really want a goalie.

Or wait until next season when they have two 1st rd picks & 3 2nd rd picks to select Askorov G who is also considered to be a franchise goalie of the future.

Make that 4 second round picks (EK signed with SJ).

Although i see what your saying imo RD or Knight. I think Knight will be good get a RD with 32 and go for foote, something good at 44 but thats my perfect draft.

Spencer Knight ranked #12 by Bob McKenzie, that's very impressive for a goalie considering the method he uses to create his list. I'd imagine a few nhl teams had him in the top 10.

Newhook at 13, Seider 15.

Bob's list is usually pretty accurate, so I love seeing Newhook, Seider and Harley ranked in the teens - 3 guys I have in my top 10.

Any team who selects Caufield top 10, when Brink (arguably the better offensive player) is available late 1st, is stupid.

Not as high on Harley as you, but i'd be happy with him at 19th for sure.

Knight at 12th is surprising to me...

Sadly none of the guys i really want to fall to us are 19th or lower so we shall see.

Would love it we grabbed one of leason or Afanaseyev with our 2nd and Grewe at 44.

If a guy like Brink slips into the 2nd even better.

With 8 2nd Rd picks between the next 3 drafts, I can't imagine we aren't moving up in the 1st Rd this year.

How far does 19 + 44 (2019) + 2nd (2020) get us in this years draft, do you think?

Holy cow bob has puistola low at 71...

Future considerations and pronman have him in the 1st. Id have thought he wpuld be a 2nd rounder on Bobs list

Same goes for Honka. Would be a steal to get those guys in the third

Dorofeyev is in the 80's, he's a top 10 talent

Yeah considering our scouting staff has proven to be able to find NHLers in the late rounds, we might as well use some of those 2nds to move up for quality talent.

We definitely shouldn't move up just for the sake of doing so, but if there's a talent on the board far above the rest, we should absolutely spend a 2nd to upgrade.

19th + 44th + 2020 2nd probably gets us to 9-11. Just the 44th probably moves us up to 14-16.

i agree, he's not on my short list. but getting a lot of buzz in the scouting community this draft week.

Would prefer almost any other USNTDP defenseman over him. Don't like his hockey IQ or skill level.

We have selected Cowen top 10 and Englund in the 2nd, so this shouldn't surprise anyone though.

Damn i missed that... This speaks to how wide open this draft will be to snag a potential elite player later than expected. My hopes are up... Dorion better not mess this up (though even if he passes on a guy i am high on i will reserve judgement till a few years when we know how things pan out)

Would basically be my own personal worst case scenario if that's how the top-18 shook out (maybe swap Harley for Kaliyev). Makes me happy that PD is at least looking at the possibility of moving up from 19 given the guys I really want will likely be off the board by #16 or so.

Also happy to see the amount of talent still available in the 30-50 range given the two 2nds the team currently holds. Guys like Thompson, Leason, Johnson, Afanasyev, Beecher, Robertson, Holmstrom, Grewe, Fagemo would all be solid picks in that range, imo.

Also, selfishly, I'm very happy to see Mads Sogaard as the 4th ranked goaltender (80 overall). That puts him in the range of the Pittsburgh 3rd round pick the sens own. From everything I'd be reading recently this is a guy that was viewed as being taken closer to #44 than #83. If there's a chance to draft him in the 3rd round I think he's worth taking (or moving up for).

To me if we end up picking Spencer Knight it couldnt have been more painfully obvious that we wanted him all along with Dorion mentioning multiple times goalie is NOT an option at 19.

Did Dorion really say that?

What exactly is the benefit of giving away any of your plans to the media? This moron loves the sound of his own voice.
