I’m curious if he will stay in the US or stay in FIN for surgery and rehab. I’m also curious if Penn St will stand by him since he suffered the injury outside of their program.
He stays in the US. They will operate his knee in the US, and then he will get some rehab help from the Penn State.

Earlier there have been some articles, where journalists have interviewed Aarne and his mother, and both of them have said that it's important thing to get education beside the hockey – though Aarne has also said that the hockey is the number 1 thing for him.

That sucks for the kid. He was going to spend at least another year or two at Penn State anyway.

Hope for a speedy recovery

Really sucks for the kid, he's a warrior. Shows a great winning mentality and why he was captain of that team. Give him another year or two at Penn and he'll be solid when he signs.

Speedy recovery Aarne!

Awful to hear that it was an ACL tear, but he should be fine once he recovers.

Does AHL deal mean that he cant be called up? I have a feeling he might wanna finish school, remember seeing his interviews around WJC. Its 4 years right? Correct me if I'm wrong, I have no clue about US. Does AHL deal give him a chance to go back to Penn State for next year or no?

It is a professional contract, so he cant go back to NCAA hockey. Also he cannot be called up to the NHL on an AHL contract.

He can still most likely finish his degree online while playing in the ahl (or courses over the summer)

Once you sign pro you can’t go back to school so no he’s done at Penn State. He can finish his schooling still like a lot of other guys such as Walsh do but can’t play NCAA hockey. Not sure if he can be called up but I doubt it’s an option this season anyways. I see him as somewhat of a long shot to make it in the NHL.

Talvitie was robbed of some of his explosiveness after a devastating knee injury in the WJC curtailed his 2018-19 season. Upon his return in 2019-20, Talvitie was simply not the same player. He showed flashes of returning to form this season, but has certainly dipped in the Devils prospect rankings.

The important thing to keep in mind with Aarne Talvitie is he's a character kid, very smart and competitive. Though he needs a year or two at the AHL level, I would not rule out a future bottom 6 role with the Devils.

If he becomes an NHL player, that's already a win.

Doesn't matter where he plays.
