No, but it might be a compromise. Rust can be a shooter for Malkin, someone willing to pull the trigger and not defer. That might help Zucker simplify his game and allow Malkin to settle in.

Kapanen, meanwhile, can help stretch defenses and be the primary forechecker for Sid and Jake.

Switch the wingers and watch who struggles. I bet it wouldn't be Malkin.
