Cannot compare Studnicka and DeBrusk , when DeBrusk came up he produced he showed something that was never the case with Stud,. Eveyone is jumping on this kids bandwagon now because he got two points , please give it some time...................
Not comparing the two other than under Cassidy, if they made a mistake their riding the pine and that kind of coaching can set a kid back, all depends on the players makeup, some will respond and others wont, but to Butches defense last year Sweeney tied his hands with his off season signings.

You are going to give up a D-man for a center you do not need this year does not make sense when I think even with McAvoy back I would like to see another D-man added to this team. That Defense you have put together is not playoff suitable in my mind.........
You need center...this year...next year going too late...if a guy like Horvat s available you have do be in the derby and Bruins like him a lot...but yes need a big D-man too...

I bet he doesn't get claimed. I think GMs will want to see if they can get us to attach a pick to take him. He's on OK player on an awful contract. $3mil cap hit, but gets paid $4mil next year. Not exactly the type of value teams are looking to add.
He’s an average NHL defenseman, who ‘s cap hit is at the league average. He’s an enticing player for teams who need help on the blue line.

The real problem is that Boston doesn’t have any leverage in trying to deal him.

Studnicka was one of the young players that they always gave a very very short leash to. 1 mistake, and staple him to the bench for 20 minutes. No way a kid can feel confident, play well, with that hanging on him. A vet makes the same mistake, no problem send em back out, but a rookie and bench him for 20 minutes. I'm not saying a player can make the same mistake over and over with no repercussions, but you can't scare them and expect them to perform.
Yup, all of what you said but added to that I, IMO the way he was handled by
Butch and the fact that Sweeney signed Foligno, Nosek, and Haula left little/no room for mistakes.
Now, at this point I hope that Stud's career isn't damaged forever because he basically seems broken.

"Coach" started the Horvat to Boston train here long ago and took some heat for it but I have to agree he would sure plug a centre hole here for a few years .I sure hope Bruins are involved if Canucks want to move him .He has Bruin written all over him.Side note is he will be getting huge raise as a UFA so any deal has to come with assurance he signing here.Prob a pipe dream but its ok to hope.

My guess, Forbort to LTIR retroactive to his injury date. Deal with it later. Reilly can even get called back up later in the season assuming he clears and they bank some cap space after Forbort comes off LTIR.
Forbert was exactly what you just said.Read it earlier today

The Bruins thought they should go out and get a center than they never should have resigned Krecji , but before they do much more PLEASE !!!! get Pasta signed...........

I don't see them trading for Horvat unless there is a major injury to Bergeron or Krejci. If he makes it to FA then he's a guy you have to go hard after. Assuming they lock up Pastrnak long term, the opportunity to play with a combination of Marchand, Pastrnak & Hall would be enticing for any center.

Just watched Jeremy Rutherford from The Athletic and he thinks Blues could be trading Ryan O'Reilly .Thoughts on him He is a faceoff specialist and hard to play against.Playoff warriors type .I never looked up his cap hit nothing sorry.

That would cover the cap for McAvoy to return, but cap would need to be cleared later to reactivate Forbort from LTIR, so it's a way to effectively kick the problem to later instead of handling now.
Thanks

So say in two weeks, Forbort is ready to return. What options do the Bruins have, if Reilly clears waiver and is playing down in the AHL?

they will then need to clear $ to cover Forberts contract.

I guess my angle was... how/conveniently?

I dont know if there would be interest for Smith....Bruins may need to ultimately attach extra (picks etc.)

Which would suck
