Quinn Hughes looks like the 12 year old kid from next door who witnessed Eichel being killed by Matthews' crew and now needs to be put in witness protection. Rust looks like the officer assigned to protect him, but whose mind is elsewhere because he's going through a messy divorce.

Johnny Gaudreau looks like the reason for his divorce. Pavelski is Rust's sergeant who knows he just needs to give the kid some rope but is worried about what'll happen if he gives him too much.

The Tkachuks are the guys Matthews sent to hunt Quinn Hughes down.

Since it was announced that the NHL will be sending players to the Olympics again and you yahoos will talk about it in every other thread, here is one just for Olympic hockey. Talk about rosters, injuries, why Canada is going to win ( ;) ) and all that other fun stuff here.

Todd Reirden looks like he's got all the energy and lust for life of a geography teacher on ketamine.

It's kind of funny but Reirden looks exactly like one of my best friends, complete with the balding head and kind of dopey "I'm a goofy tall guy" expression.

Of course I don't tell my friend that because he's an expert accountant and does my taxes for free.

Wow, I thought I was being mean with what I called him, but saying he looks like an expert accountant is truly vicious...

Not just accountant, tax accountant specialist. The stuff that makes regular accounting activities seem exciting.

Okay guys….. Hockey and Olympics.

I wonder if this announcement will put pressure on the Eichel situation. I’d imagine he will want to be able to attend.

Unless Eichel wants to change his mind and go with the neck fusion surgery, I can't imagine how it changes ought. I imagine there's a good chance it makes him even antsier about the situation, but that's not going to hurry Buffalo any.

NHLPA is going to flex its muscles on this at some point. He’s not healthy and to go an entire off season not getting surgery is just dumb. At some point both sides will have to deal with things.

Just another wrinkle in things. Can’t see Eichel not wanting to be there.

There's a process for a grievance like this iirc. But I don't think we've heard anything about Eichel starting it.

Freid said last week I believe that there was a meeting between the NHL, NHLPA, Sabres and Eichel. Nobody really knew what came out of it though.

Sportsnet is projecting the rosters, and they have Barzal is a 13th(!) forward for Canada.

And yeah, Eichel would be a huge loss to the U.S.

At wing, I'd put Barzal over Tavares or especially Stamkos. But what do I know.

He’s standout at carrying the puck. However, there players who are better than him in other areas. If Canada wanted to put together two insane PP units - which could be a game breaker - then I’d take a long look at him. Stamkos, of course, is an option for the PP.

I just see Tavares and Couturier (pegged as 4th liners) as being more effective at ES.

If I was Team Canada I'd be looking to get McDavid, MacKinnon, and Barzal in on different lines so that if there's a dman vulnerable to elite speed, there's no hiding him.

I just wanna see Marchand-Crosby-MacKinnon. I know Marchand-Bergeron is lethal with Sid but I gotta see the Nova Scotia line just once.

I really don’t see Tavares going actually. There are so many better options, this isn’t 2014.

I too also want to see Mac and Sid together. I imagine that will happen a few times and on the PP. Rat - Sid - Berg will probably be there 2/3 line that’s sent out against the other teams best.

While Canada's forward group is intimidating, their D is not going to be as good as it has been in recent best on best tournaments. Trying to score against a top 4 with the likes of Weber, Doughty, Keith, Niedermayer, Pronger, Pietrangelo, Vlasic and Seabrook in their primes was down near impossible. In the 2014 olympics, you could count the amount of difficult saves Price needed to make the entire tourny on your fingers.

Their D group won't be nearly as good this time around. Obviously still all great players, but guys like Hamilton, Reilly, Chabot and Theodore all have lapses defensively.

I'm excited to see the international stats get all wonky with the Chinese team getting beaten by double digits every night. Can't wait to see 5 separate guys on Canada put up 8pts in each game against China.

I wonder if we'll have to endure some Cena-esque videos of profuse and groveling apologies from multiple guys after their team drops two touchdowns on that squad?

Honestly I'm not even sure it'll get to that point. Gentlemanly competition, sportsmanship, etc. will have Canada sit back in their own zone killing time after they go up 5-0 in the first few minutes of the game, and we'll get treated to big time snoozefest hockey.

Can't have shit in this house!

-edit- Look, I just wanna see Sid put up like 40pts to completely f*** his Int'l stats and have all the fans that can't help but revile him lose their shit, foaming at the mouth screaming about asterisks. Is that so much to ask?

Yeah they'll ease off when they realize they still want to post up dumbf*** dance trends to TikTok using their iPhone.
