He'd be the 10 best point wise player on the Habs this season and wouldn't have a Matthews or Tavaras to ride shotgun with to help inflate his stats.

Well, he had a late start and took a while to catch up. If you took the stats from the last 15-20 games that is not true. Also, he hasn't played with Matthew's exclusively like before, and hasn't played with Tavares at all. In fact hes been on the third line for most of his time back as well as being only on the 2nd PP. All this while performing better than your top players of late.

TLDR; Your team isnt very good and willy would be on your first line.

Great ?

No, unless you have a very strange definition of that word.

Good +/Very good ?

Probably. But not HOF material, which a "great" player is.

Cool thank you for correcting that.

No problem, we'll keep him then. He's a good+/very good player.

Ya, we think he's pretty great. Just an FYI (maybe you didn't know this) but you don't need to be a HOFer to be "great". Those guys are elite, which we think Nylander could get close to, but even if he doesn't, 7 mil for 65 pts is pretty "great".

Have you looked at the players in the HOF ?

A few were elite, the vast majority were great.

There are even a few who were only very good.

Well if you say so. Don’t let the back to back 60 point seasons get In your way of what you think of him. He’s a great player whether you want to admit it or not.

“Great” players have skill AND work hard on the ice.

Willie will be fine. Having only watched a few Toronto games this season, I still feel Willie's presence on the ice without the puck. The whole contract situation messed with his mojo, never mind the fact that a relatively renewed Toronto-roster played a long time without him.

Dumbass got absolutely wrecked by Nylander/his agent. Good luck offloading that deal.

You don't have much credibility if you can't even take the time to understand the make-up of the contract.

After his bonus is paid next year, Nylander is owed just under $25M in real salary over 5 seasons. If the Leafs want to move him, they won't have any problem finding takers for a deal that good.

I doubt they want to move him though.

He has 2 seasons before the age of 22 at over 60 points. In what world does he max out as a 55 point player? Lol
I said he is a 20 goal player who averages 55 points. Run his career stats. That is what he is right now. Nowhere did I say that's where his peak is, but that is what he is thus far.

Who is the 65 pt player? Not Nylander...

Just to play devil's advocate, but there are only so many points to go around. Nylander is on pace for what, about 40 pts this year? Yes, missing training camp and a few months. I think there's a good chance his point totals stay in the 50-60 range for his career. For 7 mill that's an overpayment, albeit not as much as people around here are suggesting.
