Real improvement for the Sens will be through internal growth. Signing overpriced UFA's generally just hamstrings your capspace in the coming years.

Finding some undervalued depth is reasonable. Maybe add a solid bottom 6 forward, and look at adding a more impact player through trade.

Brady is likely to sign a bridge because he wants to capitalize in a post flat cap world and maximize his earnings. Plus its the same strategy Matthew used on his 2nd contract. That's all there is to it

They’ll never get the help needed for this core to succeed they never surround our cores with legit pieces it’s pathetic

It was always going to be this way. Reality is that when you have a low budget, especially as low as the Senators, you have holes in the lineup and there's no way around it.

Like Karlsson's entire career in Ottawa and the back half of Alfie's, they will never get a fair shake and the team will have 2-3 significant holes at all times simply because of the lack of budget available.

If I'm Brady, I'm thinking long and hard about whether I want to tie my best years to a franchise with little to no shot at perennial contending.
