Note that Ellis is not on IR and tradable
Bartley, and Volchenkov. Plus Diaby coming up, high end iq defensemen like Ellis are extremely hard to replace, whereas defensemen like Ekholm i.e middle of the road, are easier.
I still don't see why Poile is pining to make a move. Why screw up the best team in the league?
:dunno
Poile was on 104.5, yesterday, before the game and was asked a question about possible trade deadline moves...
In regards to a potential forward- top 2 lines are pretty good, so he is looking more for a player with some experience. If they had won a Stanley Cup already that would be lovely! The forward could be a PK guy or a specialist of somesort, not necessarily a pure skill or star player.

We have a lot of talent in Milwaukee and in juniors. We have an organizational glut. We are in a window of opportunity to win, and we have assets to use to accomplish that.
We should make some moves, if only to ease the flow to Nashville. Also, the ultimate goal is winning. You can't fault Poile for going after it.
Not sure why people think Smith is going to carry that much weight in a trade if he sucks as bad as some of our fans believe.
I don't see volch going anywhere. Other than him and Cullen is there anyone else with SCF experience?
