I wonder what's available. Pittsburgh doesn't have a whole lot in the way of prospects anymore outside of their goalies and Boston doesn't have the deepest pool either. Still wouldn't mind Khoklachev or however you spell his name we were supposed to get via the Iggy deal.

Is Russell for Dumoulin or Trotman/Morrow, sound good? Apparently Dumoulin has looked great this year and been steady in a top 4 role.

Doesn't make sense that they would give up a young, cheap top 4 to acquire a UFA defenseman.

Dumoulin has looked solid this year. Playing #4 quality, but I'm not sold on him as a full on future top 4. I see him being a really good third pairing guy who can go good stretches on the middle pairing when injuries happen though. I do like him.

I saw this, this morning and did a little fist pump. If this guy loves it in Calgary, we can discuss it in the offseason. If Calgary brings Russ back, Engelland, Smid or Wideman need to go the other way somewhere. Even 2/3 would be best.

Need to maximize assets.

If it's Boston I want JFK, Lauzon, DeBrusk, Zboril or Senyshyn
If it's Pitt I want Murray, Pouliot or Sprong.

If none of those pieces are available I think I would prefer picks.
