I don't remember what I predicted to Matthews, but for Marner I hoped he would sign for 9.5. Clearly, I was wrong on that, but in my defense I said above Nylander, but less than Matthews and Tavares.

Agreed. Marner is overpaid. That is what I said. As is Matthews based on the term and comparables.

I remember when everyone lost their shit about the McDavid contract. Then the Draisaitl contract. Then the Eichel contract. Not so much anymore. All contracts will be going up over the next handful of years, due to the Leafs singlehandedly changing the landscape of the NHL

Draisaitl is better than Marner at 8.5 mill (which at the time everyone knocked that deal). Fast forward at 10.8, Marner is massively overpaid. When you have 4 players at over 40 million of your cap space. Ouch.
