Pay attention, this isn't a history class where you can ask for footnotes.

The entire Casino thing and calling out the mayor, telling us to go blow ourselves up, threatening to move the team, questing Alfrdsson's loyalty, insulting Sidney Crosby (who I am a huge fan of off and on the ice and is THE pros pro), Dave Cameron insults, Matt O'Connor getting ripped by Melnyck in his first NHL start ever after he was hugely desired College FA, he went after the media last year when he had another drunken interview.

Pay attention - you seem to have a ton of opinions when it matters and plead ignorance of the issues when it convenieces your argument.

Where are the quotes, or links to them?

Or would they be inconvenient to your arguments?

Anytime someone flies in on a private jet, comes into the city and insults the people that live and work here and gets back on his plane and goes back to his tax-haven, that doesn't sit well with me.

I know you might be a guy who cheers on billionaires because their money gives them have the right to say what they want, I don't feel that way, i judge people based on who they are and not what they have.

Quotes and or the links to them???

There’s a danger is starting the whole “asshole” debate. Especiallly in sports. At least we didn’t play any part in making Melnyk wealthy. But we did make some scumbags millionaires by buying their jerseys. Attending games. And these guys just slap around a puck for a living. So don’t judge because some guys an asshole. Lots of people are assholes. Lots of us are assholes.

Right, as someone else said, thin-skinned group around here that reads into every morsel of words from the owner's mouth.

Example of thin skinned spin.

Canadian Press April 14, 2016
Cameron’s dismissal seemed imminent following Melnyk’s critical comments March 22. The Senators owner told reporters “nobody is safe” and called Cameron’s decision to start rookie Matt O’Connor in the home opener (trigger warning) "stupidity".

If the calling the decision to Start O'Connor over Anderson, in the Home owner (trigger warning)
"Stupid" is an insult aimed at the Coach, and not the decision, which is exactly what he said, then it's a spin to fit the narrative.

Did anyone here think starting O'Connor, in the home opener, was Brilliant?

He's referencing the emails Melnyk sent to the guys working in sales/marketing that were disclosed because of the court case. You should probably look that up before continuing here.

If you get a chance could you PM me the link to those please. Can't seem to find them via google.

I'm pretty sure the Peter O'Leary case hasn't gone to trial yet.

We don't have copies yet, I don't think. O'Leary has apparently included them in his court filings though, so of the trial ever goes through, they will be on record.

I doubt that it ever gets to trial though, I'm sure at some point the organization will muster up enough money to settle out of court, because it will be far more beneficial for them to keep O'Leary quiet and just pay him to go away, especially with the current opinion of the organization going around these days.

This will go well.

This is going great guys. I don't have a link to this greatness to show Tunoc and his buddies, but I can just feel it.

This to me has him selling written all over it. He's not hiring a new President because he doesn't want him on the payroll or having to him out in event the team sells.

Former Ottawa Senators executive sues Melnyk, team for $1.55M; alleges discord behind the scenes

Let's not forget the Peter O'Leary lawsuit either which alleges abusive behaviour to staff.
This of course matches behaviour in court documents from his biovail fiasco.

O’Leary’s 23-page claim provides a rare glimpse inside the Senators’ front office dynamics, revealing not only dysfunction but also alleged abusive behaviour by Melnyk.
Specifically, the claim alleges Melnyk “at times used profanity and levelled insults at executive team members, including constantly calling into question their competency. Mr. Melnyk sent abusive emails to the executive team and frequently threatened to dismiss them.”

I assume it’s all about the skin thinned stuff.

Anyway Burrowsaurus I agree with, most of these owner types aren’t saints so if you’re going to hang onto that you probably shouldn’t cheer for a lot of sports teams. The Bruins owner is kind of a complete ass too, but he puts money into the franchise that’s the difference.

As an EAGLES fan since the 90s I will say even though they never won anything until now there was no questioning that ownership was TRYING to win and putting money towards accomplishing that goal despite never winning. Lurie wanted a championship badly and fans were going to stick with him.

Maybe Melnyk does too, I bet he does actually, but he’s just absolutely terrible at it and running the operation like he does isn’t going to garner loyalty and long term success most likely.

Melnyk and Lurie are night and day IMO.

As have I.

Let's play have you heard.
Have you heard the one where a drunken Melnyk storms down to the dressing room between periods carrying what's left of pack of Caesars in a can and rages outside the door to get only to be restrained by Murray etc score he can get in the room?

That was a good one.

Every time anyone goes out of their way to provide quotes or examples or links for you when you ask for them, you always ignore them anyways. Especially when they are used in support of a point you are arguing against.

I don't blame anyone for not wasting their time on your demands for their free time when you never acknowledge or respect the information they are looking for when they are provided.

Oh, I meant like... in person. With my own eyes.

That was a good one too, though. Couldn't believe it when I heard about it, until I remembered that it was Eugene Melnyck we are talking about here, and then I could totally believe it.

Murray may have been a little too old school in the way he saw how the league was developing post-lockout, and surely made some less-than-ideal moves in response to those views, but the man was an absolute saint in how he kept a lot of out house in order. Bash the man for some of his trades, but the man earned his respect in the league for a reason.

There were back to back games, I believe. He didn't want to start Anderson both nights. I respect Cameron for giving O'Connor the chance.

You heard an insult with your eyes? That's some trippy stuff... what colour is the sound of a Melnyk insult? I'm thinking teal or possibly a brownish orange.

It was kind of translucent, but it had heat to it. Like a car crash in an F1 race where the driver immediately gets out of the car and rolls on the ground, and you know he's on fire, but the fumes and smoke are invisible because it's a methanol fire.
