Well it is Nov 1st. I have been true to my word in preseason I caught hell for saying this is not a very good team. I projected 5 wins in OCT. They would get 5 wins in Oct they managed 6. I not foresee the win in game 3 against the Wild. Our worst nightmare came true Rinne out a month or more (something I was afraid of with Hutton). I projected 4 wins in Nov before the season. I still think this will be close.

Now to those who think I am all about doom and gloom, its as hard for me to see the team lose as anyone. But this is not a very good hockey team. It is filled with wannabe's. Now some may work out in time but those that were projected to carry the team are doing worse than even I imagined.

Stalberg... Well sitting two games did not help.... NOT ONE SHOT against the YOTES
Wilson been trying out for a Chuck Norris movie Missing in Action.
Borque it has been just painful to watch him.
Two of the top six n points are again defenseman and one an 19 year old.
Hornqvist is the lone player that could play top 6 minutes for another NHL team.
Hutton may well be worse than Mason was last year. Special teams is sickening and is only surpassed by team passing

The good
Jones
Goose (faceoffs) and is still healthy.
Klein has been solid
Oh did I mention Jones
Josi picked up where he left off last year ( But please keep your head up)
I feel confident in saying that Jones and Josi are both better than Weber was at there age. Jones and Josi are going to be special players.(Weber may be expendable).
Oh and Jones

Coaching (blahhh)
Gm (blahhh minus)

Before this road trip is over theres probably going to be consideration of who were going pick in the top five next spring.

I kept up with the site while absent from expressing opinion and there are a number of folks out there that get it. And sadly there are some that may never get it. The team is n the middle of a down period. There will likely be a drastic move before the team gets back on track. I can't say must bad about the grinders they are doing there job we just have too many copies.

Most know my feelings about Smith but he has been better thus far. Will it last??? He is still far from top 6 material. Hes currently on pace for low 40's in points with 12 goals.

So 13 games instill little early but in a blink of the eye the season will be 1/4 over this roadie is going to be just brutal....

I agree with this 100%. Great post.

you all know I am not normally one to use this thread, but as nice as it is to see us score 8 goals in two games, we still had ZERO goals and ZERO points from Wilson, Smith, Cullen, Stalberg and Forsberg in those two games.

We will not make the playoffs riding Nystrom, Horns, Leggy, and the D.

Trotz not playing F9 is a joke to me. I am so sick of his dumbass decisions when it comes to rookies. Let the kid build chemistry with his teammates.

So sick of this team blowing leads. We were LUCKY to come away with a win last night.

Ultimately, event the most positive Preds fans have to realize that we are not a playoff team. Just look at the teams ahead of us.

Minnesota is probably even with us, but there isn't a single team ahead of us currently in a playoff position that I don't think is significantly better than our squad this year, even with Rinne. Also, the goal differential. We have to lowest scoring offense in the West with the a grand total of 1 win against Western playoffs teams (two wins against Eastern playoff teams, but right now the East is a cake walk). We have also been outscored 23-13 by those teams.

None of those top 8 teams are missing the playoffs.

Smith and Cullen have scored Voldy. Smith with the GWG against the Jets I believe. The other 3 absent.

No, we aren't a playoff team but as usual we will end up picking mid first round and get another 2 way forward.

What Vlod was referring to was the last two games And he is correct without those he mentioned pulling the cart the wheels will fall off. Its apparent this is not a playoff team but without these guys contributing the team will not be competitive in most games. The Kings game was not one anyone had penciled as a win, so getting that one as ugly as it was is still a step in the right direction. Stalberg may just be the worst pick-up the team has made. And people who argue the system can't explain why the guy is not shooting the puck.

If stahlberg doesn't get it going on the road trip, what a bust of a player. It's all on him, he has a chance.. Calling him a mediocre player is being generous.

I'd be more disturbed by the goal differential if it wasn't the direct result of 2 blowup games.

It will be tough to make the playoffs, and I've thought that since before the season started. If we make it, the team truly earned a birth and the young players made some great strides to help get us there. If we don't, then we have a top 15, probably top 10 draft pick...I'm ok with that.

Wish it was a 5-10 pick not a 10-15 pick. If we aren't going to make the playoffs (which we won't) we might as well try to get one of the decent forwards in this draft class instead of plugging obvious holes in our roster with guys like Stalberg, Cullen, Hendricks, and Nystrom. I would say move these guys at the deadline but who is going to take them at their deals anyways?

So, how much more do the owners have to see? This crap team is Poile's doing. Got the players we wanted? Seriously, we got beaten by Winnipeg and now New Jersey? Fire Poile and get someone who can build a Cup contender. And Korn's magic seems to have run out.

This is all on Poile for not getting a backup for Rinne when he was coming off surgery. It isn't like there weren't any vets available.

team has zero confidence in the player in net, thus playing tight and tentative.

we would be better off saying forget defense and try to win 7-6.

wouldnt work, but at least wouldnt be so crushingly awful to watch

I've said it all along. This team isn't a team that can make the playoffs. Nor do damage in the playoffs

Trotz and Poile need to go

So do a lot of the players

This is just an observation.

The Preds have always relied on above average goaltending to remain competitive. When there is a goaltending issue the team loses faith in its self or the system. The offense becomes incapable to of doing much right in these situations. Recall when Mason and Ellis had there struggles and only a snowstorm kept Rinne from replacing them both. Remember the Finley short career, in the past if a tender had a tough night there was someone to jump in and stop the bleeding in most cases. Mason cashed in when Vokey had the blood clot. The defense is noticeably inferior to those of the past, and Suter is not the scapegoat here. They are a group of young guys short of Weber and KK, the team is missing the leadership of veteran D men. I don't recall the PK being this bad for a 1/4 season without improving.

Now many are calling for Trotz and DP's head and that's ok but you must be prepared for whats next. With the make up of this team only Tippett or Trotz could win with. So if Trotz goes you should expect that the team is blown up. Not sayin im for any of this nor am I saying that it may not be a bad idea.

While the team misses Rinne, that is not the whole problem. On this road trip the team has given up 22 goals in 5 games not all are Hutton, many but not all. Now factor in the last two games the team was shut out and blown out by inferior NHL teams. Like many have said its a confidence issue now rounding out another perfect storm the team has incurred.
