If that's the 2003 team, you know they finished 4th overall right? And 2nd in the East. They were not a bad team . Regardless, that was a different era, when the NHL didn't allow their talented players to thrive.

The 1995 Devils won just 22 of their 48 regular season games and relied on their neutral-zone trap system to shut down more talented teams. The top scorers were Stéhane Richer, John MacLean, and Neal Broten. Whatever their merits otherwise, they were far, far away from being the most talented team in the league.

No more line changes with the puck in you’re own end!

Quit giving the puck away through bad passes, poor clearing attempts and dumping with no pressure in deep!

Play Ehlers and Laine less or better yet sit Ehlers and insert Roslo into the lineup!

Quit allowing Vegas to skate into the slot alone!

Get traffic in front of Fleury more than once a game!
Good points all

It's pretty easy - play our game and Vegas will have no answer. We are the superior team and our style matches up better than them.

Vegas wins with great goaltending and aggressive attacking. The Jets can play that game better than Vegas. Vegas would have to trap in order to beat us and they don't have the players or the system that Nashville had that gave them success.

If the Jets move their feet, and use their size and strength, Vegas don't stand a chance.

It's all mental at this point. I think (read, hope) we will have our trademark bounceback tonight.

That sums up Vegas in a nutshell. The Jets just need to work their butts off in order to offset the hardworking Golden Knights. Winnipeg has more skill for sure which gives us an edge in that regard but they really do need to ensure they're at the top of their game in skating hard and focusing on their play. If they get a few by Fleury they may be able to rattle his confidence like other teams have done in the past when he played for the Penguins.

-Score early - Fluery is highly skilled but can lose composure if you get into his head. Also takes the crowd out of it.
-Responsible defensive plays - Vegas forwards are very fast but they aren't high skill players. Can't give them the opportunity to get behind you.
-Secondary scoring - Our top guys have been beasts but they can't do it all. Our secondary guys like Laine and Connor are also play very difference when they are riding high. If they are in their zone they are huge threats, other times they are invisible.

What exactly are you basing this on? Other than your typical glass half empty viewpoint of the time?

The Preds would have knocked the Jets out save but for sub par goaltending? You know this, how? It helped, it certainly wasn't the only factor.

I think you underestimate just how consistently well the Jets play a disciplined game, something they did on more nights than Vegas this season I might add.

Puck on stick, puck off stick. Move it faster.
No dipsy doodle garbage. All business, move the ******* puck.
Don't take forever to shoot, pass or shoot and do it quick (Laine/Wheeler).
Stop making soft passes to Vegas players.
Miss some Vegas bodies and sticks with shots.
Bodies in front of net, and shoot when there are.
Skate, skate, skate.

As long as Jets score first goal of the game, we can win. If they score first......well....you don't need to finish watching the game because we already know the outcome.

You have to actually come out firing right from the get go. You cant turn it on and only play half a game.
