Just got home from the game. That's 2 hours and 40 minutes of ones life that can never be gotten back. That's all I have.
My friend was flying back from London to where he lives in Jacksonville, Florida. He was on tour with a band that he plays in. He changed planes at JFK, but was considering a flight into Newark, to catch tonight’s game, but wanted to get home tonight and didn’t have anywhere to store his equipment and baggage during the game.

He’s fortunate to have missed this one, it was a waste of money. It was a waste of electricity to watch the game from home. You have my sympathies for losing money and time on this one. I want that 150-160 minutes back.

And I wish my dinner came out better!:madfire::banghead:

Burn the tape.

If it were a larger more boozed up weekend crowd the Devils would have been booed after the 1st and even louder after the 2nd.

It was obvious early that they were not giving an honest effort.

Hopefully it was due to fatigue because you can try win playing that soft, slow and lethargic style.

Fans should absolutely not be booing this team considering the season they are having. That is bush league crap that should be saved for fans up in Edmonton. Classless stuff.

It was also clearly a fatigue issue tonight and not an effort issue. Don’t know what game you were watching to think otherwise.

Funny enough Hall did an interview with ESPN this week where he said the really negative press and constant booing from the fans in Edmonton helped make that team worse. It destroyed their confidence.

I also think BG was right that the booing tonight was for a missed call and not booing the team.

I don't understand why Cory is being dinged with that last goal. He threw himself way out of position on it from making the initial save, but Greene totally looked like he came out of a 20 year retirement on that one. He's been horrific for the last week and pretty lousy for a month now. That motor is starting to blow some smoke. I think that was actually the least worst goal allowed. I think he controlled the rebound to Greene, who looked really dumb. It banked off of his hip, so it looked worse than it was, but it wasn't an initial shot.

I kind of dinged him for a similar goal against Boston, to the second goal he allowed tonight, but it kind of beat him over the stick side shoulder, maybe he could have been over to his right a little bit more and it hits him. The shooter had a better angle than that Boston guy last week, where he really didn't have much of an angle.

I thought the first goal was stoppable, he had a good look at at that one and it whizzed by his glove. But he really has no business facing a shot there. It was a stoppable goal, but I can't say it was his fault. It's kind of like Kinkaid allowing that 5-hole goal against Calgary a few weeks back, while we were on the power play. We're on the power play, we shouldn't be allowing odd man rushes, when we've done nothing all night and he's already faced just about 30 shots.

Did goal allowed 2 go off Greene's skate?

If not it was really soft. The entire play began with a bad turnover by Hall near the FLA goal line.

It looked like it could have, but I don't think it did.

I don't think that was really that weak of a goal, even though I thought the one against Boston was. The guy against Boston was at almost a dead angle and Cory was off of his. That one just beat him to the outside. I don't blame Hall much for that turnover, he was trying to make stuff happen in the O-zone.

Replace "Edmonton" for "Philly".

Has Cory ever beaten Luongo?

Rags will get a tired FLA team tomorrow and prob that bum Reimer.

I mentioned fatigue and the rough schedule a few times.
But getting dominated in all aspects including getting doubled up on face-offs it was just an ugly game by NJD.

Very bad the first 40 minutes, decent in the 3rd but a deserved loss.

He's beaten him at least a few times. We chased him on opening night (it was our second game of the season but their opening night) in 2014, after scoring 5 goals on him in the 1st period. I was there. He also beat him back in December of 2015. I think there was one other time, which I just can't think of. He probably has a losing record against him, but he's beaten him a few times. I think we yanked Luongo one other time in the last few years, but maybe Cory wasn't in for that? I remember Kinkaid getting a win over the Panthers a few years back, where Peter Harrold bumped him in the last minute and cost him his first ever shutout in literally the final minute of the game. Maybe those were the only 2 times? It seems like Florida usually start POS Reimer against us or Montoya the past couple years.

And yeah, Reimer is a f***ing bum. I remember getting ganged up on over at the Sharks forum when Reimer had immaculate stats after a whopping 12 games (or something like that?) for the Sharks, and how it was the Leafs defense that made him look worse. Despite the fact that Reimer played well for the Leafs that year too. He's a guy that's terribly inconsistent from year to year and he FAILS the eye test, by allowing a lot of leaky goals while going down in the butterfly. They also committed 5 or 6 years to this sack of shit. They'll be begging Luongo to stay.

I wonder if Vinnie will pay him another couple million under the table? Worthless f***s.

Man the worst part about losing is the fact that we are stuck with 3 days off of people arguing about the loss. Friday can't come fast enough

After looking at that second goal again, I think that definitely a stoppable one. I don't know if Greene screened him or what. Denis Potvin seemed to think that Butcher was screening him, when Butcher was behind the play there. I think I tried to give Cory the benefit of the doubt on that one.

It just sucks that he was playing in the first couple period's while barely anybody else was. Then after he allows a goal, we get back in it and he breaks down.

Watched the third goal again and that's the one that I feel like too many people are getting on him for, when that was the one goal he really had no chance on at all. Greene just looks worse and worse and worse and worse every time I rewatch that one. That wasn't even a rebound from Cory, that was a rebound off Greene from blocking it, which was awful. He should have just let Cory have the shooter there. It was gonna be at a sharp angle by the time he took the shot and Cory is probably gonna stop that one. Instead, Cory thinks Greene's giving him the shooter, throws himself out of position, the puck rebounds off of Greene's stick when he goes to try to block it or whatever the hell he tried to do with it, then Cory is way out of a position by the time the shot comes and it banks off of him. Really lousy stuff by Greene.

That effort was absolutely terrible he stopped skating once he blocked it instead of at least closing the gap between him and the skater. Then he had an oh shit moment and waved his stick ever so slightly

I'm flabbergasted at how badly he played that.

Cory probably should have had the first one, even if it was a 2-on-1. The second one Trocheck came flying down the ice and did the old use the defenseman as a screen and shoot it between his skates trick, so I'm not going to ding him too badly on that one. And the third goal was really just an unlucky bounce after Greene blocked McCann's initial attempt. He's not Marty or Quick where he's going to make some highlight reel athletic save there.

The team gave Cory no margin for error with the way they played the first 40 minutes, so I can't blame him for this one. I did like how they responded the final period, especially given how gassed they apparently looked (I only caught the last few minutes of the 2nd and the 3rd).

I think looking at the schedule - management should expect this type of stinker having that many games.

My feeling is - we haven't called one player up from Bing this year, what a perfect game to do it. One game, put Lappin in there, get some fresh legs, a spark, something to break up "another game" in a long stretch. Roster management is also looking at the roster and saying "what do we need tonight?" --could see it from a mile away, they needed a jump, so get someone in there with fresh legs/perspective who will go go go.

Not to say that would've made all the difference, but maybe he gives a spark in the first period, and we have the first and third period of good hockey, not just the third period.
