Kostin is a perfectly ok big body for the 4th line but the guy got so overrated after a few good weeks with the Oilers last year.

San Jose is a good spot for him though, he will be able to get regular playing time, one would assume.
He was more than 2 weeks watched him here in Edmonton - had solid season protected players and played well in playoffs

It wasn’t a few good weeks. He played 69 games for the Oilers last year and was good the entire time.

What’s Kostin’s scouting report? Don’t know him!
Big
Slow
Decent hands, but more often than not too slow to be in a position to do anything with them
Personable enough
Can fight anyone if need be

He feels like a guy that should have been in the NHL 20-30 years ago.

He wasn't getting much playing time in Detroit, and was ultimately sort of unnecessary. Don't mind this moving saving some cap space for next year.

Ok, he’s a solid 4th liner with size, toughness and and a plodding nature…who played 10:03 a night and shot nearly 20% in those 69 games.

I’m not saying you or other Oilers fans are wrong that he was good in his role…I do think many Oilers fans reacted over the top when he was let go and this season he’s basically been what he’s always been.
