Personally, I think we should only do GDTs for Latvia. Sandis is way more interesting than Marleau and Vlasic and Pavelski and Niemi.

Team USA Practice Lines Day 3:

Brown-Kesler-Kane
Kessel-Pavelski-van Riemsdyk
Parise-Backes-Callahan
Pacioretty-Stastny-Oshie

Martin-Suter
Shattenkirk-McDonagh
Orpik-Faulk
Fowler-Carlson

No surprise Pavs still with JVR/Kessel. Unfortunate, to say the least, to see Brown's worthless ass anchoring down Kesler/Kane again.

Hey all, I made some Team USA avatars for the main Olympics Boards. No claims, anyone and everyone can use them. Here's Pavelski for anyone interested:

Hrudey was on HNIC radio just now saying that Bergeron and Marleau on the PK were giving the Canada PP fits throughout practice, said they are just awesome together.

This is going to be the most unpopular opinion, but you can kind of see Vlasic being overwhelmed. He's easily the defenceman most likely to make a mistake while handling the puck.

He has an incredible supporting cast - he just needs to play HIS game and he'll be fine.

Nice Pavs quotes:

"We picked Joe four years ago because he's like a Swiss Army knife with so many functions," Burke told the Associated Press. "And he's much better offensively now. He doesn't get much ink because of some of the other players we have here and because he plays with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau in San Jose."

"He's a big-game player," Parise said to the AP. "He's so versatile. On any line he plays on, he makes guys better. He does so many things right whether he's scoring or not. You're comfortable having him on the ice whether you need someone to score a goal or make a defensive play because he can make plays on the whole sheet. He's tough to play against, so it's great to play with him."

Its not like Vlasic hasn't gone against any of the forwards of the opposing teams. He will be fine. They aren't asking him to carry his pairing but compliment Doughty and let DD be aggressive offensively. He's played in big games before.
