Heading to LA tomorrow. Ugh. Missing the season opener. I never really had to pay attention before...but what site do guys use to stream the game ? Does the CBC web-site have it available ?

Worst part is that I am travelling with some annoying Hab fans. God I hope the Buds win.

CBC does stream however im not sure how it will work out of country

when both Clarkson and McLaren come back Ashton could the the 13th forward and that 4th line is McLaren/McClement/Orr

highly doubt it.

McLaren was only a regular last year because Lupul missed most of the year, otherwise he would have been in the press box most of the time, like he was in the playoffs.

If the leafs are healthy, expect McLaren to spend most of the year in the press box, aside from specific matchups.

CBC stream doesn't work outside of Canada, iirc.

We are planning on some upgrades for regular season on OurLeafs.

saying ashton has no skill is not correct

he has some underrated offensive skill.

Reimer gets the start, and after giving up a goal, Carlyle runs out, gives Reims a stunner, and makes a motion to the bench. Bernier skates out, puts Carlyle on his shoulders and skates around the ice to an ovation from Bernier's home town crowd.

Bernier returns to the net and dumps his water onto the knocked out Reimer. Reimer gets taken off the ice on a stretcher which Dave Nonis tips when it gets off the ice.

Leafs, of course, get a delay of game penalty.

Geez they should have just traded Reimer in the off-season if that was the plan all along.

Looks like these are the starting lineups. The only question marks are 1. which one of Brodie/Leivo will draw in on the 3rd line RW, and 2. which one of Fraser/Rielly takes the #6 spot to start.

I'm guessing Brodie and Fraser take the spots, but I'm hoping Leivo and Reilly do.

Here's the starting lineups with their 2yr splits (note: Ranger and Bodie haven't played the last 2yrs so their stats are in italics, mean much less than the other guys' stats, and are there just for reference):

Habs seem well prepared for Randy Carlyle's Leafs. They are using a line of Parros-Prust-Moen in today's practice.

Should be a good one!

Moen coudnt beat his grandmother if he tried. Dude sucks. Probably gonna talk trash and act tough.

Parros and Orr seems like almost a certainty.

Guys like Bodie and Fraser will Take care of Prust if need be.

Prust has a tendency to go after non-fighters/better players though (see grabovski and phaneuf incident). Hoping he doesnt go after kadri.

Guys like Kadri and ashton will bring the skill/grit element.

So i think we are fine, even without Mclaren and Clarkson.

Watch out for that tinordi kid though. Dude tries to throw some big hits. Him and subban both. Leaf players gotta keep their head up.

You know, Moen really impressed me in his fight with Kassian the other night :sarcasm:

@markhmasters: Carter Ashton: 'I can't get complacent ... every day my life's going to be on the line'

@markhmasters: Carlyle asked about lengthy on-ice meeting w/ players at end of practice; 'Talking about you guys,' he quips

@markhmasters: Carlyle on msg to players: 'We're here for keeps now boys. This is the real thing. It's time to start preparing ourselves mentally.'

Blow-jack on 1st PP unit, Kadri on 2nd.

 x 100.

I'd rather have Kadri lose faceoff, and Leafs just have 1:30 of PP; than Bozak winning the faceoff on PP and employing his 0 creativity for the other team.

Although I think Kadri deserves to be on first unit more than Bozak, I don't hate this. It spreads out our talent and gives us a serious threat to score for the entire 2 mins, and gives Kadri the easier defensive matchups. I'm expecting:

PP1:
JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Phaneuf-Gardiner

PP2:
Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson(Raymond/Kulemin) [or double shift Kessel]
Franson-Rielly

That's a deadly deadly 10 man PP rotation!
