I hope the Flames stay far away. Potential for underachieving is too high IMO.

I disagree. At that number, yes. Stay far away. But I get the impression he just doesn't want to play in Colorado. Maybe he really does want to play in Canada or something.

I wouldnt mind him at 6 million. The guy is a great player and still very young. He would be a great second liner. A Bennett/ O'Reilly combo would be a great match up against other teams top lines, allowing Gaudreau and Monahan to really dominate.

ROR is very interesting. I think he has wanted out of Colorado for quite sometime now. He signed an offersheet from Calgary which already shows he is willing to play here. Even though he has asked for 7.5 in Colorado I could still see him signing somewhere in the 6.5 - 7 mill in Calgary long term, which I would have no problem with. He is still very young at 24 and would fit in with our long term plans. Having our core forwards of Monahan/Gaudreau/ROR/Bennett for the next 5 - 8 years would be awesome.

The only thing is Colorado would most likely want D help which we cannot offer. I would put our 1st rounder this year though in a package without hesitation.

Ryan O'Reilly will want 7M+ from which ever team he signs with. I don't buy the idea he'd sign for less in Calgary. Seems like wishful thinking.

Anyway, hope the Flames are going after Frolik

ROR doesn't want out of Colorado, he simply wants as much money as he can get, from anyone.

Sure he signed in Calagry, they offered him the most money.

Stay far away from players like him.

I would take both Colborne and Jones over Frolik. No need for him at all.

Even though Frolik hasn’t entirely ruled out a return to Winnipeg, he’s now considering other options. The Czech made $3.3-million last season and is believed to be seeking a contract in excess of $4-million in free agency.

Sportsnet

Would easily do 4.25-4.5M per for 4 or 5 years. Jets fans think he'll get over 5M per.

stay away from Frolik at that price, that is vile.

He hits, he skates, he goes to the dirty areas, he scores. What's not to like? Jones at his best is as good or better, but I don't think Frolik is a downgrade at all, especially when you factor in consistency. I had Frolik on Team Intangibles last season, so I was watching him quite a bit.

That said, if someone offers him over $5M, I'd let them have him.
