Hunt is better than Clifford at this point.

That's fair. But injuries have been frequent. Also, might still see a trade that sends any one of Goat, Chytil, or Strome out. Though, if the wins keep coming, I fear a bad decision about Strome.

We're saving big on Kakko's next contract in the first 15 of the season and now we're going to be saving huge on Blais' next contract as well. Injuries suck but those two on a cheaper deal will really help get us to the end of the cap lockdown.

I said this about Kakko 2 seasons ago when it was obvious he wasnt going to come into the league and light shit up.

Same goes for Lafreniere.

While it kinda stinks that you dont get the instant gratification and output of a true #1 and #2 overall pick, if they blossom a little later it could be a blessing in disguise - especially with the landscape of the cap after the Covid layoff and some of the more costlier, long-term contracts the Rangers have agreed to.

If they could be bridged or extended with palatable contracts before they explode it could be a win-win for the team, because you may have had to give one up or make other concessions in the lineup to fit everyone in.

Thats a recipe for a dynasty right there. Always a bit of luck that goes into that. (Provided they actually both develop into what their potentials are)

ya these last 12 games of kakko and laf has highlighted that this is a passing league. You need to have a passing first mentality unless you have an elite shot. You won't rack up points unless you can pass. Kreider plays on KZB for however long and always ends up with 2 goals for 1 assist. Laf is billed as an elite grind and jam and Kakko power forward and size. Neither have changed their game to excel at putting up points and creating NHL offense.

Kaapo fights through defenders and sticks on the half wall just to pass the puck to a non danger area the same way Ryan Strome stands still and makes the same pass and gets points for it from dishing it off to Panarin. Once they learn to slow down and play east west as much as they can despite the coach harping the team game of north south, they'll put up more points and control the play more. It's a give and take.

Some are gonna be awfully disappointed when Strome signs a new deal here.

Disappointed won't do it justice.

Incredibly angry is closer to the truth. And i wouldn't put it past Drury to further kneecap our team's future by doing something like that either
