Yeah more than likely a Trouba partner for a year or so. I'm not going to say I 'love' the idea, although I do think Gardiner is better than he showed this season. I could see the interest just based on a few different circumstances. Also, honestly, at $3m cap hit, Gardiner playing on the 3rd pairing wouldn't even be an issue.
I don’t like it. Carolina went out of their way, and paid out a lot of assets to bury this guy, including giving a 1st for Skjei. I’m not dumpster diving here.

Regarding Pornman's u-23 rankings, I don't want to nitpick too much, but the fact that he rated Adam Fox's physical game a 30 (the lowest score he awards even though its a 20-80 scale) and Jack Hughes' a 40 has got me heated.
Me using a 20-80 scale:

It's not really dumpster diving. Gardiner had a down year in Carolina after back surgery but towards the end of the season he was rounding back into form.

Corsi rel this year was +2 @ 55.6 and he's always had a positive effect on puck possession going back to even his first year in the NHL.

Also, I'm not sure I take Carolina's take on defensemen when they traded a 1st for Skjei.

He was the TML whipping boy for his playoff performances against the B's.

I mean Slavin is the best dman in the league that no one knows about. Carolina was all in last year and they had a ton of injuries and had to adapt. They went out of their way not to play Gardiner important minutes.

Somewhere in Eisenhower park, a ranger stumbled upon Mat Barzal and offered him a sheet because he was cold.

eklund must have misheard.

this supports my theory that Eklund is a not a real person, he is a bot that scrapes Twitter for hockey keywords and amalgamates them into somewhat plausible "rumors"

Gardiner Is a no go.
He would probably be happy to allow a trade to the Rangers.
But it would mean exposing Lindgren to Seattle.
No thanks.

btw, because NYR sent away 2021 2d Round Pick,
NYR could only offer-sheet Barzal in either of these AAV ranges ....

$4,363,096 - $6,544,640 : 1 First Round Pick, 1 Third Round Pick
$10,907,736 - ∞: 4 First Round Picks

[ or any player, at those levels, or less than $2,181,545 AAV]
Offer Sheet Calculator - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

lol eklund is such a clown...we are in a cap situation where miller and barron are going to be in hartford cause we can't afford to carry their $850k performance bonuses but we are gonna sign barzal for $11+ mil

"The Rangers currently have around $10 million in cap space to sign both Strome and Lemieux. Reality is that number is close to $7 million because of performance bonuses. So if we anticipate Lemieux to come in between $1.5 million, which I feel will be closer to $2 million, that leaves the Rangers very little wiggle room for Strome."

Exceptional writing here.
How dare you !!

He has a no trade ,So he can not be exposed.

So that should end that.

No trades can be exposed, no movement clauses can't.

Although there's a small caveat that even that is not conclusive. The NHL will go through each contract individually to determine if a player can be exposed in case of a clause. 3 years ago, Rick Nash who had a modified NTC, had to be protected, while Bobby Ryan with a NMC could be exposed.

we would protect lindgren over him which makes the trade more of a no go unless it costs basically nothing

Do not the Rangers have enough LDs? ThrowbackJJ, wedding crasher, Lingren, Bitetto >100 games no one remembers, Hajek liked enough to trade for, Miller's untapped potential, Reunanen 2nd to last year of ELC ?
