I just don’t see it. That’s not a “marginal” raise, as the article claims. We let Fast walk over less, percentage-wise.
we let fast walk over the years not $$

Strome right now looks like a 2 year deal at 4,6-4,7. He will not garnish any trade protection, so it is an OK deal IMO. There are 2 deadlines to choose from to eventually get some assets back.

I'd prefer him over JohnsonNot sure where The Score is getting this from but the said the Rangers might be a potential destination for Jake Gardiner.

Sure if he had 1 year left at lets say 2 million or lessI'd prefer him over Johnson
Yeah anything over 4.75 for Strome especially over 5 would be disappointing. 1-2 years max obviously. We have to fit in Lemieux at probably 1.75-2 as well.Strome for multiple years at 5+ is a genuinely awful contract.

Beauty clearly is in the eye of the beholder.Strome for multiple years at 5+ is a genuinely awful contract.
btw, because NYR sent away 2021 2d Round Pick,
NYR could only offer-sheet Barzal in either of these AAV ranges ....
$4,363,096 - $6,544,640 : 1 First Round Pick, 1 Third Round Pick
$10,907,736 - ∞: 4 First Round Picks
[ or any player, at those levels, or less than $2,181,545 AAV]

Ok. I will bite. Please elucidate.Agreed, but not in the way you’re suggesting.
Bingo. Not happening. No way he takes anything close to 6.5 or less and we can't give him 10 million plus not to mention 4 first rounders.btw, because NYR sent away 2021 2d Round Pick,

IMO, no player aside from McDavid, is worth giving up four 1st round picks. And the Islanders would have a good reason to accept the offer sheet and take the picks.
And I doubt Barzal signs for less than 6.5m triggering the lower compensation
Eklund is the CNN of hockey “insiders”Of course its just Eklund, but too juicy not to share

I do not see any serious suggestions for that.Fox just had the best rookie season for NYR since Lundqvist and some folks are still trying to trade him
If we offered him the 6.5 range and he signed it the Islanders would instantly match and we’d have done them a huge favor. If we offered the 10M plus we’d have shot ourselves in the foot for a player who isn’t worth that kind of money.
