I'm gonna..
Yeah. Secretly hoping the Sedins retire. As much as I appreciate them, it's time to move on... They're taking up two spots in a top 6 that kids can fit into instead. We're going to need to accommodate potentially Gaudette, Lockwood, Petterrsson, Dahlen, Lind, Gadjovic all coming in on top of the Goldobins, Granlunds, Baertschis, Boesers etc...

realistically, how many of those will even be top-6 players next season, or even the year after that?

I wonder what it would cost to get Josh Anderson.

Him and Horvat played well together on the Knights. But not an encouraging sign when a player demands money way above their pay grade and then a trade. I'd still gladly take him for someone like Gudbranson, not sure if they do though.

Hmmm further research suggests Anderson is more of a 4th line winger who saw an inflated goal total due to an inflated SH%. He's a bigger, more physical version of Granlund. Nothing special.

I have a bro who works for the Canucks. After listening to them about the team culture and the business side of the Canucks, I'm completely convinced this organization will never win or make winning a priority. It is a country club who's only objective is to suck money out of the rich in Vancouver with no regards to on-ice results or the fans of this team. And nothing is going to change until the Aquillini's hit financial hard times which isn't likely to happen in the foreseeable future. It really is that bad and there's no point following this team as a fan of hockey.

He also doesn't kill penalties at all. Would be somewhat interested in that sort of player if they were like Gaunce with better production but Anderson doesn't fit that bill. The system seems to be full of potential offensive wingers but there's really not much for solid future Hansen types.

Wouldn't mind if they plucked a cheap, young guy like Joakim Nordstrom out of Carolina to play as a 4th line PK specialist.

Yes I came to this conclusion by objectively looking at their decisions over the last 3 years.

The veteran acquisitions acquired for this season? Those weren't done for fans, those were done to placate the twins and to save Linden's job.

Every single decision that's been made by these clowns have not been made to build any type of real relationship with the fans.

All we can do is hope they get lucky and eventually figure out a SC wining strategy that is aligned with milking the fans for money.

The thing is though, the traditional and hardcore hockey fans like us don't matter in the least. They're getting up to 120,000 dollars a game for their top of the line luxury suites and they're selling virtually every inch of the arena to the highest bidder. The Vancouver business community covets this executive service from the Canucks as a sign of success and to flaunt their importance in the Vancouver business community.

So if the team is making several million dollars a game from a bunch of white collar dickheads, what difference does the schmuck who paid $100 for his seat or what difference does the on-ice product make? They just want pretty low-key players who can kiss hands and shake babies.

Also explains why an utterly incompetent flim flam man like Linden has been at the helm despite stupefying failure. He's a prominent Vancouver name who has made a living post hockey as a whore. The only difference now is he's still a whore but now he's controlling the destiny of a multi-billion dollar entity. He's the perfect guy to be a slimey ambassador to VIPs for the Aqualinis despite the fact that he's going to waste a decade of our existences as hockey fans.

And the real sad thing is that since Vancouver is such a hockey mad city, none of this will ever change.

I am completely black pilled on this organization and I'm coming to hate the entire organization.

So care to give a name to this source? I mean I can state this thing as well, or anything for that matter and state I have a "bro" as a source.

I've heard the same kind of thing from people who've worked with their business side before and had some small interactions myself. Let's just say they aren't a pleasure to work with and a lot of their employees were given jobs because they were so and so's son or daughter. I work in the tech industry and was doing something with them on video and their staff were completely and utterly clueless. I'm pretty sure my contact there was straight out of high school and I know for a fact she was 100% a nepotism hire.

Yeah this is the big problem. You have kids of old money running the organization which means you have a woefully incompetent business throughout the entire organization. This goddamn thing is such a mess, I want to slam my head through the wall.

Since we're (kinda) piling on the family right now, I know a few people who have worked with the Aquilinis over the years and have nothing but horrible things to say about the way they do business.

The company I worked for did lots of work for them on property they wanted to develop.

They're not nice people at all. Destroyed a lot of culturally important land/material and paid the fines because it was cheaper than paying to do the work properly.

My old man was on the Aquilinis legal team against the Gaglardis. He had some interesting things to say about them too...
