Buff assisted on Laine's goal last night, didn't he? Is recency bias so strong that it's literally shift by shift now?

I sense nothing this org or team does will ever be good enough to allow Laine to reach his full potential.

He does these weird pauses before the pass. He should make a quick pass like he did on Laine's goal. He does the head-fake and then gives the pass (and it's often off the mark).

He is doing less of the "I'm gonna shoot for no reason", but he needs to be better if he is going to be the main feeder for Laine.

Laine was miles better last night, didnt watch the full 60min but from what I saw he was the most dangerous Jet on ice.
Now that they lost Maurice should think about his lines again.

Little is the 1 on that line who's still sleeping.

Laine is starting to move his feet better. So is Little. I think that line will eventually gel into a handful for the opposition. But then again, I can be an optimist at times...

Feels almost as if I was talking about last night's game the earlier. :)

Although I didn't participate the first line being demolished against the Las Vegas. Nevertheless, the kind of result you can expect when the only offensively working line collapses.

Laine had a good game despite second line being kept out of the score sheets (as usual). Still, I'm expecting no major changes against the Arizona. The team should win that one practically just by appearing and with half-arsed effort.

Here’s the thing though - it used to be Buff’s job blasting from the blue line and only reason I would think they’re in the same unit is the double threat. In order opponents to buy into that Buff needs to put a shot in every now and then.

All goal scorers are streaky. Nice to see Pate feeling it currently.

I get the feeling that Little is just that tiny little half step away from where he needs to be. He's close, but just not quite winning the battles or getting a step.

That whole line was like that to start the season.

Laine has improved by a mile from that, Ehlers has improved as well but Little is still at that same level.

Maybe theyre aiming their physical training so that they dont slow in post season or late regullar season. Heavy duty training KHL style and not working early season :P Ive heard some khl players say russian teams train so hard that they get it going just in mid season

I was commenting strictly on Buff's pass on that goal, not on his overall play (which would be OT for a Laine thread).

Well, his pass on Laine's goal wasn't anything a half-baked prospect couldn't have done, and hardly enough to lift him above alleged recency bias.

Buff looks like a guy with massive ego. He always seems way too reluctant to pass the puck to Laine at PP as well and often when Laine's free he just fires a low percentage shot that misses the net instead.

That was the post I was responding no. No more, no less. Does that make the response trail more clear for you?

Even in that case, if I counted right, Buff made total 1 (one) proper pass for Laine last game. And got rewarded an assists. Not too bad. Maybe next time he gives too proper passes and gets rewarded 2 assissts?

But otherwise, I think "Laineux" was just wrong. It's not that Buff is that reluctant to pass the puck or just shoots it like being selfish player. It was this time more than he could not fit the PP1 at all with his game which was looking just like he had spend a good night at Las Vegas Casino before the game. Buff at least did try to pass to Laine more than once, only the technical quality of his other pass was really bad, so there was no one-timer opportunity for Laine. In general Trouba, Myers, Morrissey and Kulikov, maybe even Enström would have done better. Just an off game by Buff, but he will surely be better next time.

Finnish posters on this board were probably just 1 period away from seeing some line juggling that they have been so desperate for. I am now onboard with moving players around in the top-6, although with Connor scoring tonight I can't see Maurice breaking up that line for a few games atleast.

Yep, but Perreault coming back soon does give PoMo some options now to work it around. Don't think Lowry/Armia/Tanev/Matthias were ever gonna find themselves in the top 6, but Perreault can, and Perreault is a line driver.

Its not that he is streaky it is that his line 5v5 is uneffective...

Both little and ehlers with 1 sog again... just terrible. Atleast laine is staying afloat due to pp and scheifele ^^

I swear if not 5 or 6 of the 9 goals are with scheifele despite only playing with him on the pp mainly.. is this true?

That line just cant get it together and score 5v5. Pretty dissapointing.
