Lmao, the irony in this post is quite funny.

bjugstad coming off a very good season: 49

Pacioretty coming off an awful season: 47.5pts over 82 match.

You are right pacioretty coming off an awful season, wich everyone knows he can bounce back. They have literally the same PPG this season, does bjugstad coming an amazing season with that PPG makes him an overall awful player?

You mean Pacioretty coming off an awful season: 37 points. (That's how many he scored this season).

He also didn't play the full season lol. He took his average PPG and multiplied it by 82 games to give you a full look. Ironically enough, Max was heating up before he went down though. Teams were in a bidding way for many other high scoring players after scoring slumps, it simply was not a very good year for the Habs. Expect Max to rebound this year.

I get what he did, but he's not accurately portraying Pacioretty's season. 37 points is all he scored. No more, no less. That's like saying after Ovie's first two games, he gets hurt and can't play the rest of the year and you claim that he would of scored 246 goals last season because he had two hat tricks in his first two games. It doesn't work that way.

So if he re-enters the draft and someone selects him, how long do they have his rights for?

I'd like to see the Panthers re-pick him and just ruin his life. Force him to become a teacher or something.

It just doesn't seem smart to lose a fairly high pick for nothing
If Mascherin was dictating the terms of where he'd go, the return was likely pitiful...so maybe Tallon just said eff it, it's not worth it, we won't negotiate with these kids again (Corban Knight, Zach Hyman).

Other than Bleackley, would he be the highest pick to go back in the draft in a long time?

Mascherin has no leverage to dictate his destination if he goes back into the draft, either.
Correct. But it’s not like the Panthers could call around dangling Mascherin. He had to be willing to sign. The reality is the deadline passed. Maybe he wants to go back to the draft. Who knows
