I’m all for roasting Lindgren, but that was the unluckiest of unlucky plays tonight on goal 5, he gets clipped on a legal high stick, and then goes into the boards, he’s human, he’s not just going to get up from that.

Yeah, and “legal” high stick or not a guy just got his face opened up and can’t get up… that’s a play that should be blown dead. An injury caused by a stick to the face. Especially since the play is leading directly to a scoring chance for the “offender.” I’m going to have to look up that rule… it may have been called properly but then that’s a f***ed up rule.

I think he got played by Romanov. It's almost like a reverse hit. Romanov lets up and an over-aggressive Lindgren flies by and it's him who his the glass first

It wasnt the glass that was the problem, it was Romanovs stick to his face. He fell into the glass after Romanov almost took out his eye.

Doc was the best, it boggles the mind howpeople disliked him. Best national tv announcer in this era. Bob is great as well, he should be the top guy For ESPN.

He comes up to the Rangers and, twice, picks out the toughest guy on the ice and punches him in the face, first Johnston then Martin.

Except that's not what happened. Matt knew it was his first game and invited him to fight since he thought it would be cool for the kid to have a fight outdoors in front of 80k fans. Then, when they were in the penalty boxes, Martin congratulated the kid and told him he has a longer reach than Z.

Panarin being more willing to both shoot and go towards the crease has opened a lot more space for him than he was getting last year, as has Laf's play at RW

I think Cuylle has taught him a lot about playing the right way while they're living under the same roof.

But, really, I think he's just more comfortable this year and familiar with the play style.

His 2 p/60 are identical to last years and his last year in Carolina as well as close to his total average from 2019-2020.



I'd say his pp scoring is up slightly but his 5v5 numbers are right in line with his norms.

His TOI per game is up a full 2 minutes which helps A LOT.

Circling back to McDonough, he's so bad. The first couple of goal calls were atrocious. It sounded like he wasn't paying attention or the sun blinded his eyes and he couldn't see what was happening. It's actually inexcusable for a marquee event on national TV.

Not a chance. It was Defcon 1. I had to blow up my buddy's bathroom 8 minutes after we left the pizza spot we had dinner.

They should allow Sam and Joe to do an overdub of the game and release their version for replay. McDonough did not deserve to call this game.

Can you imagine Sam calling the pair of late PPGs? Can you imagine Joe going off on the team at 4-1?

This is actually one of the things I find so frustrating about streaming. There should be team casts for the playoffs! It feels like this should be a legitimate draw of paying for ESPN+.
